C Beckett Sennecke - Oshawa Generals, OHL (2024, 3rd, ANA)

Barlow Ritchie Sennecke

Is this the closest the OHL has produced to the Tkachuk Dvorak Marner line?

Any guesses on what these Generals develop into?

I thought they did. My bad.
Np, I think that's what most people assume.

In the playoffs, Oshawa usually goes with Barlow-Griffin and Ritchie-Sennecke pairings on two different lines. The other winger has changed from game to game on each line. I didn't see last night's game, but the one before, I think Powell was with Barlow-Griffin, and Terrance with Ritchie-Sennecke. On the powerplay, the top unit has Barlow-Griffin-Sennecke-Ritchie-Marrelli. Terrance missed last night's game, so they probably put Buckley with one of the pairings and Powell with the other.

All that said, I think Sennecke showed in these playoffs he's willing to lay the body and cut to the net when he needs to.

Tons of talent, great size… when he fills out he’s going to be tough to handle

I drool thinking of the potential of a
Gauthier carlsson sennecke line in their primes
I have Leo and Beckett on my dynasty team in a 30 team league. I've tried everything to pry Cutter away from his owner but haven't been able to...yet

He does stink. Not to mention the attitude problem of chirping the opposing team after he scores.
Trade him (to my team) now.
That’s my favorite part of his game tbh.

We need that perry/tkachuk/marchand type.

I guess zegras can be kinda annoying/cocky like that at times

I think there’s room to think he’s going to be an impactful NHL’er and a good player for the Ducks (potentially what they need), and also recognizing he’s tracking towards nowhere near the third best player in the draft, not that he was ever the third best in the draft.

The reach they made to get him looks bad 11 months later.

Bad take.

There was growing opinion amongst some pretty good scouts that sennecke was a top 5-6 player in the draft and the best of the line drivers along with demidov. A year later that is still true. And sennecke has a rare blend of size, speed, shot, and hands that is unique among that draft class..including demidov. Taking him at 3 wasn’t a huge reach. And if his trajectory continues on its current course, it will look like a very astute pick.

Has he taken real steps since last season? I don’t see much progress.

Not to say he’s doing poorly, but has he continued the trajectory of the second half of last season?

If Sennecke is what you suggest, I hope he can show that in the NHL next year because I promise you there will be three or four from this draft picked in the top 15 that are top of the lineup players by then.

Sennecke will need to do that to keep pace. Not to hate on him or the Ducks, but I’ve kept an open mind on this selection and I’m just not seeing how he’s going to fulfill the 3OA slot he got.

So the first man wins theory?
