I was of the opinion he would be a good 2nd line LW in 2 years. Maybe I wasn't optimistic enough.
So glad he didn't go to the Q. He got two years against men in a strong league instead of two seasons against kids.
Looked like he belonged. Slighty faded through the game but not a bad debut at all. Had chances, good skater, threw a couple solid checks, very responsible defensively, wasnt afraid to go to tough area's. Couldnt really have asked for much more from a 19 year old, his progression in the last 2 years has been unrealHow did he do? Any CBJ fans able to give an insite?

I was not happy trading Kolesar, still wish there was another way but yeah, Texier has huge potentialGuess you guys are now pretty happy trading Keegan Kolesar for that pick![]()
Fun fact Jarmo said that day that the plan going into the draft that year was to pick him in the 1st round but that pick was traded to keep Anderson/Murray/Korpisalo in the expansion along with Taking Clarkson so when he fell that far into the 2nd he said they felt the value was too high not to move and take him in the 2nd. We have so many guys we have drafted or are with our current team that are what KK can be if he reaches his floor, middle, and max potential. It was a great move as a team to spot his raw talent, see the value in him dropping, letting him take his time through france then finland, realizing he maybe ready for NA and beinging him over, then recognizing the kid may be able to help us get some more offense into our more grindy game especially going into tampa so these 2 games to get chemistry and get him uses to the system here.Guess you guys are now pretty happy trading Keegan Kolesar for that pick![]()
Off-topic: 22 year old undrafted French player, Guillaume Leclerc has been really good this season, having a breakout season.
He spent 2014-2017 in NA (USHL+NCAA) went back to France for the 2017-2018 season.
This season (plays for the same team where Texier used to play, Grenoble) in all competitions; play-offs included
36 goals, 45 assists, 81 points in 57 games, like Texier, he too played for team France at the last worlds
scored a goal and assist there.
He is a modern NHL type of forward, small fast and skilled, he is 5 foot 8, 184 lbs center/winger.
- wouldn't be surprised at all if several NHL teams would be interested of him after the worlds.
Past couple of weeks now, lots of NHL teams been signing 5 foot 8 - 5 foot 11 sized undrafted players from the NCAA and elsewhere.
