Dreger: Byram trade being explored

I'd be surprised if he wasn't on a number of GMs radars, but I've gone from confused at his inclusion in the Horvat trade for being available with his pedigree/draft expectations, to disappointed, to low key feeling like we got away with something by getting him.
yea I am very confused how we went from presumptive #1 overall, to 52nd. that must've been one brutal draft season.

I'm no prospect historian, but yes, that was a heck of a decline. I don't know if he was the consensus number one, but top 10 seemed like a certanty, even if he fell some. Ah well, not every useful player goes in the first round.

This is one reason why people should stop hanging around crap sites like Twitter, desperate to find out something two minutes before it is reported elsewhere, and instead just wait for actual, legitimate reporting to come out.

It's not like knowing about a trade two hours earlier than otherwise will change your life in the slightest way.

Does Ferris as his agent worry anyone else that would like to trade for Byram?

I think a Mikey Anderson and a 2nd rounder from LA for and extended Byram makes sense.

Anderson a big minute 27 year old shut down Dman signed 5 more years at 4.125.

Gives Buffalo plenty of cap going forward and LA a puck mover from the left side.

There is no way the Sabres are moving Byram for that.

I think you're underrating Anderson by a fair margin. We'd be getting a bargain deal for a top 4 guy.

I do Anderson and a 2nd for an extended Byram all day. Dahlin has Sammy....Mikey would be that for Power.
No, he wouldn’t. Byram was s a driver, Anderson is nothing close to that, and for a 2nd? No thank you. Not the trade to make.

Done deal.

L.A needs a left shot puckmover. He would be the perfect fit.

Would Mikey Anderson or Kevin Fiala be a centerpiece that Buffalo would consider. I am not sure what their needs are? Would they rather keep Byram and trade a guy like Powers?

I’d do the deal for Anderson and a 2nd. Buffalo doesn’t really need picks though.

Counter: extended Byram for Anderson and Laferriere

if Laf is included there is a lot more coming back. He may be one of the most underrated players in the league. I am hoping he keeps getting better and evolves into a Justin Williams type. Dude scores, hits and has dropped the gloves for us. He is like Anderson, a true hockey player. They moved him to center for a bit due to our lack of pivots and he looked good there as well.
