Value of: Byram to Pittsburgh

Why are some Sabres fans calling him “low energy Tage” ?

Is he playing half-assed this year ?
Some of it is just general frustration with the team as a whole. Some of it is also frustration that as a big, tall guy....he's not real physical along the boards and not a big hitter (also see Power, Owen)

But I think the major part of is is that his skating stride is kind of effortless, so it often doesn't look like he's giving full effort in his skating. And in general, he's just a quiet understated guy most of the time.

Combine that with that not a lot of our players outwardly show emotions on the ice (except for frustration)......and you get complaints against guys who should be our top guys, even if not wholly warranted. (unlike Cozens -- the criticisms against him are TRULY warranted this year. And Quinn. And Peterka to a certain extent.)

It would take something dumb like 4 1st round picks.

Trading Byram sends us even further away from the playoffs unless we get an elite rhd prospect or top 6 center in return.

If we start trading away players for futures the team should just be relocated.
Right now we are trending towards our playoff draught getting a driver's license, I don't want it to get old enough to start drinking.
If the team relocates to Quebec city, it can start drinking the second it can vote. Maybe even a bit before.

Would love Byram but there's nothing in the cupboard that equals a Byram. We have McGroarty in the system, and that's not remotely enough. Even add a first and Broz and it's not enough I don't think.

It was because of his effort on his shootout attempt the other night. Guy has a 100 mph rocket of a shot and he decides to do a slow winding lazy trollop to the net and flicks a lame wrister at net.

If Byram actually gets traded, I feel like his value wouldn’t be that high.

Can’t think of a young player that got dealt to a team, and then pretty quickly dealt to another team for high value. Why’s that player getting bounced around so much? Seems like Buffalo should want to keep him, or his value would be diminished in a trade.

Having said that, Pittsburgh is a dumpster fire with not much to like aside from the old guys so yeah can’t see what Buffalo would want.

Don’t give a shit about picks. No one in Buffalo cares anymore about something that might become a player in 5 years.

There’s a very good chance those picks could turn into Mckenna and the 15 year old dman in WHL ripping up. Like I said you’re wrong and the Sabres would take that deal and run. Yeah maybe you have 4 cars at home and taking up way to much space in your driveway but if someone comes and offers you a brand new rolls Royce for your wedding ring you make that trade.

Any team trading 1sts will protect them so the argument is pointless.

Pickering and a pick would make sense if BUF doesn’t want to sign Byram or vice versa.

But, I assume they would be targeting comparable aged forwards.
Buffalo at LD has

Dahlin
Power
Byram
Samuelson
Ryan Johnson in Rochester
Try have prospect D

The last prospect they want is a LD in trturn

Pickering and a pick gets you noting near a player like Byram

lol then how did Colorado get Makar and Byram?

What's the problem with Buffalo seriously??

Solid offense and unbelievably talented D.

Behind the net is another thing but nonetheless, they should be way better than that.

Better supporting cast?? Not enough leadership??

Tbf the biggest problem is Dahlin got injured. On the bubble before his injury, 13 game losing streak with him hurt, 11/16 points since he came back. (Despite having a pretty good reputation as a player, Dahlin is honestly still criminally underrated.)

But we could also really use a steady stay-at-home RHD in our top 4 and another Zucker-esque quality veteran forward.

Cozens not playing as good as they need. When you expected him to build on the 22/23 season and become better he is instead not producing close to what he did then. He might be able to bounce back given time.

Thompson, Zucker and Tuch are playing well, but most of the younger forwards need a little more time. Peterka is producing well, but none of Quinn, Benson, Krebbs, Kulich are producing that much. They are all young and some of them will take steps and make the offense better going forward.

Also Dahlin back helps a lot.

Too young.

No real top 6 centers

Yeah I agree Dahlin being injured is tough to deal with.

Let's see what happen now that he is back (already better I can see).

Really?? If you think Thompson is not a real top 6 center, I will trade you Evans for him.

He is a winger playing the Center position.
