There are usually a few buyouts every year, who do you think we could see bought out this year?

I wonder about Kampf and Jarnkrok for Toronto, I like them both especially Jarnkrok but I don't think they fit the Berube system or style

T.J. Brodie seems safe bet to be bought out

Unless they do the whole "Mutual parting of ways" via unconditional waivers but cant see someone giving up $ he is owed especially since its pretty clear he is done

Hawks could always bury him but I think they would rather opt for clean break via buyout rather than have that situation

I could see someone taking Jarnkrok if waived or for future considerations. 1 yeah at $2.1m wouldn't be a bad move for a team needing some experience amongst younger guys, and if he performs, you can get an asset at the deadline.

Kampf looked an inflated contract when signed and really doesn't look good now.

Dang, he must be awful If they'd rather pay him 2.9 to go away, than 3.1 to stay.

And thanks to their signing bonuses, their buyouts don't even clear enough cap space for a minimum contract replacements. And would also come with small additional cap hit for the seasons after,

The two candidates from a Pittsburgh POV would be Jarry and Graves, but I doubt either happens. I think Jarry is movable with the rising cap and his play down the stretch. And Graves would be too rich. With no expectations going into next season, there's no downside to keeping Graves.

The team has close to 30 million without those buyou it still saves about 1.5 million combined.

That would bring them to just shy of 32 million and that's the point.

Kampf or Jarnkrok won’t be bought out. Someone will take Jarnkrok, after his signing bonus he’s less than 800k in actual money.

Kampf has two years left but it would just be cheaper to bury him in the minors than buy him out. He’s still a decent defensive veteran #4C who’s decent on face offs and pk but a black hole offensively. His problem is that he’s overpaid.

We told you the SECOND it was announced it was a bad deal.

You didn't listen

You thought you were smart

You were not.

Quotes from Wings' fans, just from the first two pages of the Holl signing thread...

Uhh... That's $3.4M total, right?

Hate this guy lol

Weird, at least it’s only three years?

Chiarot last year, Holl this year. I'm noticing a trend here now, boss.

Can we finally stop pretending that Yzerman is a good GM? This and Chiarot. Painful.

Trust the Yzerplan

Holl and Chiarot on the same team could be scary some nights.

Chiarot/Holl combined -276 incoming

So you told them what, again?

one of Engvall or Duclair gets bought out if I had to guess.

My guess is we try trade Duclair and put up with Engvall's contract for a couple years. Given Engvall's contract is nearly waiver proof, we can use him to send up and down when we need roster spots which can be useful when we get in injury trouble

Duclair might go if Roy comes back due to his untimely leave of absence at the end of the year. Engvall and MacLean can get sent down. Just need to move out some of the forwards causing clutter (not buck) on the roster.
