I think the knights will be able to exploit the NCAA rule so it is possible any holes next year can/will be filled that way. I am not too sure they will care about the OA slots. They are relatively cheaply filled. I think the Knights will benefit greatly by the new NCAA rule. They will start to draft more strategically as well.

I see your point but from my perspective, the stronger franchises will have better reach and with the added supply, the reach expands. I look at it that way. Rich get richer sort of deal.

The challenge is the USNTDP players. Those are the highest desire players but I am not sure that cohort will migrate to the CHL. If they do, that would be a game changer. But, if they don’t we are looking at cutting out players that would be 1st and 2nd round OHL picks and the NCAA bound players are restricted to players more likely to be 3rd and 4th round picks. It will depend on how that affects overall impact.

I can see the Attack shifting both players they acquired from the Petes last trade deadline, for a whole lot more than they paid.

Possibly another dman as well.

Maybe a few veteran F bodies for like return, in a bit of deck chair shuffling .

The Attack will NOT be accepting an OA in return , I imagine once Leonard gets healthy, it'll be him, Hookey and McDonald to finish the season.

Hoping the Rangers do some kind of soft sell. I'm tired of them being a team in the middle of the pack. Commit to restocking the cupboard and try to make some noise with an older Reid, Romano, Lam, etc, in the coming years.

This would be the best outcome for them.
Restock a bit without tearing down and potentially upsetting the mojo this next group is already developing.

Petes have nothing of significant value to sell. Improving in the 2nd half is almost a given considering they are currently sporting a .212 win%, but I understand what you are trying to say.

Personally, if it were me, I would have the Petes in the BUYER category. Clearly not buying at the top of the conference but I think adding a couple experienced players if they can find them cheaper, especially some ‘06s, would be of benefit. The younger players need a little more support. I’d like to see the Petes make a couple moves like that. I think ti will go a long way for them int he standings as well as help their future.

Two 2nds and two 3rds in this coming draft with how young their roster is won’t really help. I would suggest trading one of the 3rds. I would also be in favour of moving someone like Addy if they can get a good return in picks. Help balance out the ages a bit.

My biggest concern for the Petes is their ‘07 group. They have Cameron and the three they added last year at the deadline and that’s about it. I think all four of those players line up as potential OAs. I don’t think any of them are considerably impactful as potential elite players. IF they can find a taker for one of them and cash in and turn those assets into multiple players, it may be good.

You spend a lot of time thinking about the Peterborough Petes.

My opinion is that Saginaw should be a seller...Parekh would bring a big return and I also think there's a market for Ethan Hay because (1) he's tremendous on faceoffs and (2) he likely could return as an OA next year for someone.

Had we not won the Memorial Cup, I'd say that Mangone should be sent to a contender for a chance to win a title but I don't think we would look to move him.

I don't see us moving anyone else and maybe acquiring a depth defenseman from a team who has an abundance of players at the deadline.

If the rumours are true, I think you’ll see Misa traded to Brampton to play with his brother, as it’ll be both their last seasons in the OHL. According to Jeff Marek, BU has strong interest in both and wouldn’t be surprised to see it happen. Saginaw isn’t competing this year and might as well trade him now before losing him for nothing.

They did it all last year. Now they need to tweak the roster to move forward.

The Wolves are that sleeper team not many are talking about. The team is in a precarious position with a decent/good record with a mixture of young and older players. The team overall has performed above expectations considering 6 weeks with no Musty and 1 import. Goaltending has been very good with Krawchuk caring most of the load and Marshall winning Goalie of the Week.
The team is well stocked with draft capital. The OAs are very strong with Delic, DeAngelis and McCoy…
Going to be interesting to see which way they go. Hard sell, Hard buy or soft sell and soft buy?

I do agree with adding an 06 or two at the deadline. Targeting guys who need a change of scenery or get bumped down the depth chart after some BCHL/USHL signings would be smart IMO.

Should either be a hard buy or hard sell imo but you never know with Papineau but I bet they buy and win a round maybe I think they’re 5th or 6th best team in the conference

Even if he doesn’t’ make the NHL next year, it shouldn’t matter. A team like Brantford will pay for the 2-year player because they want to compete this year but their real window is next year. If they are going to spend this year, it will be for two year players like Luchanko. If the rumours of Misa wanting to move are true, he’d also be a target for Brantford. Same with Mews.
