Buyout period begins Friday at noon and ends June 30th.

Three Bruins options

Mitchell Miller
Mike Reilly
Derek Forbort
I can't see the Bruins adding to this already glorious postseason by buying out Miller and reopening all that nonsense can you? Plus it does nothing for them. Maybe if they have a deal worked out for Forbort, but they are going to need every cent.

So you have two options with Miller.

you buy him out, or you keep him on the roster for 2 more years, and I am guessing pay him (not sure, but I assume he is being paid still). I don't see how keeping him on the roster would be preferable?

There will be a lot more "nonsense" if they don't by him out considering everything that was said after the wrath they took from everyone.

Bruins will probably just try to hide Miller on the payroll and not do a thing and blame it on salary cap reasonings.

do they pay miller AHL money or NHL money? assuming AHL since they "assigned" him to providence, but that shit is
above my understanding.

honestly, keep him buried, no cap hit and hes making pennies.

use the buyouts on reilly and forbort, assuming no one has agreed to this point to a trade.

Is there a buyout limit?

Can someone explain how the Bruins still own Petr Cehlarik's rights? Is it because even though he's over in Europe he'd still be an NHL RFA and Boston is the last team he played for?

From what I understand, guy's a pretty good prospect. As long as there's nothing in his background since his disgraceful treatment of that kid years ago, give him a one time opportunity to show remorse and tow the straight line. From a believer in second chances.

This off season is gonna be crazy as there is just not many options out there. Every other GM knows Boston is in a cap pickle and will be vultures trying to get meat for little. Prospect pool below average, and not many draft picks.

Got to basically build a full forward group with just under 5million to work with barring trades.

I just would be amazed if he is able to build a team without throwing prospect directly into the fire ready or not. As that to me is the only real option they have.

He will be on the cap for four more years instead of two though, but I get it.
Bury him in the ECHL and he never sniffs the NHL until he's ready to move on to Europe.

Sucks he's getting a paycheck, but he 1 gets paid less that way, 2. Like you said, his cap hit isn't against us for 4 years.

I mean that whole situation was completely avoidable, so no forgiveness there. It's a lose-lose situation, whether he's bought out or not.
