Bump and Kaplan

Charlie OC said he spoke to Briere for an article and Bump was the one that wanted to play in the AHL instead of burning a year so he would be better prepared to make the NHL next season.

The culture. The culture.

I haven't paid close attention to Bump prior to this year, but I did like what I saw from him in 3-4 games I saw. I don't think there's a huge chance at him being a primary point producer, but maybe a mid-6er, 40ish points, type player would a realistic upside that you could hope for.

Yeah, I've only seen Bump the last couple of his games, but he's got good hands, patience, can score, and is big and fast enough to play. We'll see. Kaplan can skate and has good size for a checker. If he could be the next Hathaway, that's his ceiling.

Kaplan has been underwhelming the last couple of years, once projected as a two way player, shown nothing. Taking up a contract spot for basically nothing. He’s not Murchinson-level useless, but let’s be real—there’s not much to hang your hat on here.

If Bump comes close to what Brink has achieved it's a big success. A top-9 LW who can pot 15-20 goals and or get 30+ points as a 5th round pick would be great.

Wonder what Rubtsov is doing these days ...

He did well in the Sabres go-ahead goal. Now he can continue his lifetime AHL career.

If you get that out of a 5th rd pick you hit a home run. It's where Oskar Lindblom was projecting before his diagnosis

Agreed..I want to clarify what I meant when I wrote that.... I'm not saying that's my expectation for Bump. I'm saying if all goes well and he hits, that's my reasonable ceiling IMO.
