Nuts, looking at this still I grabbed, maybe I am wrong:You aren't the only one who thought that goal might be offside.

“Aura” is the new vernacular kids are using today.Pretty smart kid there. How many 7 year olds know the word aura and what it means?
The NHL didn’t fire and lifetime ban Colin Campbell after he was exposed. They protected him. The league’s integrity will always be questioned, and rightfully soI am open to the idea, but one of the biggest kinds of bad thinking is making order out of chaos. We are wired to believe that nothing is random. It's why conspiracy theories get so popular. It's like how everyone assumed the draft was rigged. If the league allowed the Oilers to draft McDavid and didn't step in behind the scenes to stop him from re-signing with max term, why would they now stop us from getting a cup? It's just nonsense to me. Arguably getting McDavid is a much bigger deal than winning the cup, in terms of franchise value and promoting a team.
So I would need some pretty blatant proof of bias to believe there is any bias keeping the Oilers without a cup. I also think that in general we have a few players who are not subtle about their physical plays. We are an intense team who invites more calls against us. We also make bigger errors it seems, like allowing odd man breaks and doing more blatant penalties to stop it. Even then, I see our team get away with a lot of stuff.
Frankly, I can't make heads or tails out of this. You do realise that the original benefactors of revenue sharing and the salary cap were Canadian teams. Had it not been for the 2005 CBA which still pretty much dictates how all of this works there would be no Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, Ottawa Senators or most likely Vancouver Canucks. The board of governors each get one vote on the direction of the NHL. If there are more American teams, with the current revenue sharing model introduced by one Gary Bettman, which includes interlinked components and workings dictating how much revenue each club will receive. Which way is the vote going to go? You know this. I know you do.
Even Canadian board of governors may vote against the interest of Canadian franchises if it means they'll profit more. The benefits are many and I'm not going to pretend I know half of the loopholes in Canada when it comes to this shit. Did I mention the board of governors are the owners or their intermediaries. Of course you know this.
Some of the nontraditional American markets would dry up if there wasn't interest generated from playoff success. C'mon man, I know you understand 100% of this so why play? Tell me why, I'll understand.
I wonder if thinking it might be offside affected the defensive coverage? Oh well, not much to be done, they know they missed played it, I suspect they'll be better in this regard.Nuts, looking at this still I grabbed, maybe I am wrong:

Frederic is one of those players that goes on streaks. He'll do nothing for 10 games at a time, but then win 3 straight games by himself, then disappear for another 10.
In some respects - that's frustrating and not good enough. But I'll give him credit - even when he's not really going he treads water well.
He's basically a budget version of Johan Franzen that is more physical.
Yesterday I thought we'd his worst game of the playoffs, but even then he wasn't particularly poor. Definitely a number of times where you'd have liked him to bear down and make a better play - but our third line was always going to lose the matchup against the Panthers third line.

One thing though - knowing he comes up huge when he's on - I find it hard to take him out. Particularly since we're at the end of his usual cadence of down games.
I got a hotel about 3.5km away from the core. Sorry, did someone say you had to be in line for the Moss Pit at like 10am. Thats not going to work...there is another place for an older crowd (40's)? Then just going to different bars. What bar would anyone recommend to watch it?If you are even thinking of going to Edmonton for games 5 or 7, book your hotel now, since most have generous cancellation policy. Most of the hotels in the downtown core (Marriott or Hilton chain) are already sold out. I am there next week, and had to book the Doubletree Hilton West, about 4.5 km from the arena.
Speaking of tickets to Games 5 and 7. I already got my tickets to game 2. Looking to buy tickets to games 5 and 7 off Fanfirst or Stubhub. What is the policy with regards to if the game is no longer required?
Like if I buy game 7 ticket off those sites now, and game 7 is not needed. Will I get the full amount back, or only what the original cost of the ticket?
Doesn't there have to be a fight for there to be a third man? There were no fighting penalties or even co-incidentals.
It probably was but after already getting screwed on one challenge I’m sure they didn’t want to risk it a second time.Nuts, looking at this still I grabbed, maybe I am wrong:

This might be the best thing I’ve ever seen. You can scope it 360.
Hrudey doubles down on being an unabashed Oiler hater. Maybe he’s secretly Rejean from CP.Hrudy picked his old chum bennet for winner.
... because Quebec City and Winnipeg didn't have the means or the desire to have NHL franchises? lol poor Canada, Bettman had to swoop in and save hockey in Canada. I've heard all this BS before and it's crap. If you believe that, I know you don't, you'll buy anything. Or sell anything.Frankly, I can't make heads or tails out of this.
Now do I think the league has an interest in strong American teams. Absolutely! Look no further than the exceptionally generous rules for expansion but I don't think this has nearly as much to do with the drought as does the fact that NMC/NTC's and the desire for UFA's to play out the string in "desirable" US markets makes it a lot easier for teams like Florida to build a winner.

Complete with VR beer and VR crowd fights.I'm waiting for the day I can sit in my recliner with a VR headset on and enjoy a live game experience with incredible unobstructed views.
Walman was clearly holding Bennett's stick trying to draw a penalty... look, Bennett is a cheap f***er, he's going to fall into the goaltender no matter what this series. DON'T GIVE THE OFFICIATING ANY VIDEO EVIDENCE AND DON'T CHALLENGE THE GOAL IF THERE IS ANY EVIDENCE... end of story.Underdiscussed aspect of that first FLA goal was how Bennett hooked Walman in front of the net and prevented him from going to the corner to get to the loose puck.
I've probably been watching the Oilers since before you were born.Do you just update the scores page on NHL.com and catch the occasional highlight?
Yeah should have been a penalty but no way they are calling a 5 on 3 penalty in overtime. So happy they scored right after especially when he was on the ice for the goal against.rewatching the OT goal on the break in that rat marchand takes out bouchards legs. slippery play and i hate him cause we are playing him but its a headsup play on the break-in eliminating an option
Good pick. The guy is on fire. Him and their 3rd line scare me.Hrudey doubles down on being an unabashed Oiler hater. Maybe he’s secretly Rejean from CP.
