Post-Game Talk: Built. Different.

Ya let's changed what has worked and got us to the finals again. You don't call out officials in the media it does nothing other than get the officials made at you and potentially start changing the mindset of your players.

The players are dialed in don't need him going all Peter Deboer to appease some fans
You're wrong. It has only worked because we didn't play Florida before lol you will change your tune as series goes on . Florida is only team in league that gets away with murder. You stick up for your team. End of story. You don't have to berate refs but you need to show a bit of fight. And nobody said call out refs blatantly lol it's called savvy making your point.Veteran coaches do it all the time and get calls next game .

I'll take what Louie just said on the radio and other smart hockey minds.

Team is dialed in mentally and have gotten to the cup finals partially because of Knob keeping shit in order.

You don't change shit that isn't hurting you.

Yep, need to dig in a bit more in the faceoff circle!

Connor looked elite all game, and of course Leon showed up big time. Both of them are backchecking like demons.

I thought Jake Walman had an excellent game, almost played like our backs were to the wall. I wonder if he can keep up the intensity.

Bob still put up a .913 in this one. imo every game will be difficult due to Bob.
This team doesn't quit. Such strong belief. Down 2 goals and push to get back in it. Way less stressful watching them live than on television. haha. Just had confidence they were getting back in this game. Walman was real good. Two big blocks and stepped up for big hits. 5 shots. He and Klingberg have been excellent work by Bowman adding on Kapanen and Podkolzen who were great last night. How lucky we are to watch McDavid and Draisaitl go to work every day.

That Walman is probably a little sore this morning lol.

You really imagine all of this as something it's not. I can't understand why. The team will keep pressing forward as they do, they did win so that's what matters.

Knob could have talked to the officials during the game but the media?

Explain how that gets calls the next game?

I thought we were the better, faster team. I liked our game and i'm glad FLA does not have elite game breakers like we do.

The Panthers forecheck was heavy tho and our defence definitely struggled and turned the puck over a bit

What a game by Jake Walman!
It was a bit hit and miss defending that forecheck as there were times that the d made quick plays that resulted in chances. What was nice though was that even after mistakes were made guys came out next shift and were focused on their jobs again

Florida was fine, had a good 2nd period and scored a goal that doesn't count for the other 31 teams.

The Oilers were better the rest of the game.

You are correct, Walman was great and Bouchard keeps being the best defenseman in these playoffs.

Oilers ended up 4-3 in penalties. They got one in OT.

The tripping on McDavid was a joke. It wasn't even a trip. Nurse deserved a hook on Barkov after he got beat.
Evander deserved a 3rd man for a straight arm

Simultaneously, lots of clutching and grabbing by Fla. They missed a hook on Kappys 2nd breakaway. The interference thing was a joke, he fell into him.

Dude, stop whining. There was a poll for worst fans in NHL. TO came up the most. Oilers were like 3rd.

So please, stop embarrassing us w/ your constant whining

It's been talked about a lot these playoffs how often the GM will be the one as well to make calls to the league

Just because we don't hear it publicly doesn't mean Knob or Bowman haven't had the conversations.

And like you said he could've very easily talked to the officials, we don't see what goes on during TV timeout or after the games

People still crying about the refs.

You realize they called more penalties against Florida than they did us? Sure there were lots missed but on both sides. Loose the rose colored glasses. This year's playoffs for us have been the best they've call is years. Quite fair.

Who’s to say, that the Oilers aren’t discussing these concerns with the NHL off camera? I feel trying to bring this up publicly will only hurt the Oilers.

Agreed. Knob made it very clear he feels robbed and that they made the wrong call. Just because he remains composed instead of turning into a crybaby like Deboer doesn’t mean him and Bowman aren’t laying into the league right now

@MessierThanThou thinks there is an NHL conspiracy going on against Edmonton and they meet in a secret pizza parlor basement near the capital to discuss how to screw the Oilers

Bouchard has been fantastic these playoffs, but last night were lucky some of his turnovers didn't end up in our net

The officiating crew was quite poor all around, that's more than fair.

I don't even know if they are laying into the league as much as there was probably either a call or in person meeting with King who was setup in Rogers last night.

Fairly easy for them to get some clarification on the call yesterday.

I have a feeling the Oilers are doing a bit of that Muhhamed- Ali thing they did to Dallas.
Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm not great at dissecting plays or strategies).

The Oilers seem to be incredible at MOVING The puck, but aside from a few players (McD, Janmark, Kapi) we don't transport the puck a lot. We pass it more than skate it.

What we then do, is force the other team to skate laps and laps and laps and laps, and they basically empty the tank in the 2nd period and have nothing left in the 3rd (Easy to do with a team that's identity is a relentless forecheck). Put it past them, and watch them skate furiously back. Skate all the way in to forecheck, skate all the way back, skate skate skate skate skate.

I'm not sure if there's an advanced stat that tracks 'distance skated', but it wouldn't surprise me if their skaters skated nearly twice the distance before the 3rd period than ours did.

Florida were gasping for air in overtime, and just kept icing the puck.
They were holding on for dear life in the 3rd and OT. Just like Game 3 vs Dallas.

I think as the series goes on, if they continue with this same gameplan, they're going to end up like Dallas. Just out of gas at puck drop.
