Holy hell, just got home, that was intense. This is gonna be one hell of a series. Florida is incredible at funneling the other team, creating turnovers and regrouping aggressively. Bob was very good.

Oilers will need to manage the puck better, loved the physicality, stayed patient but can and will need to play better. Thought a few guys struggled. Got one in the bag though.

Huge huge huge win. Stats are just stats, but the stats are very good for the team that wins game 1 in the Finals, particularly if they're the home team.

For game 2 need to figure out what to do with Nurse and Kulak, they were really bad tonight. Kulak seems to really struggle on that right side. But not sure what you do, scratch Kulak and put in Stetch to keep the left right balance?

Line 3 probably needs to be changed too, they were really bad tonight as well. Thought they looked very slow, particularly Henrique and Frederic.

Podkolzin is an absolute beast and a perfect player for the playoffs. Heavy on the forecheck, great defensively, wasn't intimated at all tonight, and that entire 4th line I thought was pretty good.

Finally, the Stu story, all 4 games the Oilers lost last year he had a negative GSAx. +.71 tonight, if that keeps up they're in very good shape.

Though the Oilers were the better team overall, and some really stupid self inflicted mistakes they should be able to clean up.

I was thinking about this earlier as I noticed the Panthers attacking Kulak on the wall. What about getting Nurse to slide to the right and play him with Ekholm?

Maybe I'm smoking a little of how Vegas and Dallas went down but the Oilers just took over. Gonna be real hard for Florida to find traction if Oilers close out the homestand here. Team over there is nursing some injuries and we're healthier this year.

Arvy with 4 points in his last 5 games. He’s been huge lately,

He’s looked really good every game he’s played. Everyone coming into games have been contributing and playing great hockey. Our depth this year is outstanding.

By the way Stecher was playing, he should be playing. There’s just no room. Skinner has looked great and scored when in. RV has been noticeably good and putting up points. Pics changed the momentum of the whole playoffs.

And all these guys have been healthy scratched at times because too many are producing and playing great hockey.

It’s also great that after losing a guy like Hyman, who’s obviously a huge part of the team. That his replacement comes in and immediately puts up points.

Our depth has often been an issue. This year it’s a strength.
