Post-Game Talk: Built. Different.

We have:
(1) a rested Ekholm. I feel like last year he played so many minutes all year he got tired by the end;

(2) healthy Kane;

(3) healthy Draisaitl;

(4) a more composed team;

(5) a dialed in goalie.

Last year Skinner doesn't win that game and honestly I could see a bloodbath after the bad challenge and Florida scoring.

Little worried about Henrique and Frederic, and Kulak and Nurse had some yips.

But this Oilers team grinds away unlike any Oilers team since what? 2006? 1990?

No doubt in my mind he is a better player than Frederic but we've seen enough this year to know that Skinner isn't dressing for another game unless there are injuries.
It’s sad really, Frederic’s has a place if he actually brought some physicality, he legit doesn’t do anything, is slow as molasses and has stone hands, might as well try out Skinner, he can’t be any worse.

Walman is a gem.

First the Griddy and now this.

As he should, from what we’ve seen all season in our games that’s pretty much an automatic no goal.

Not only that, but if I'm not mistaken our PK looked great the first time around before the challenge. May as well risk it in the first when everyone is fresh and your up 1.

Sucks it didn't work out, but that play won't happen every game.

For game 2 need to figure out what to do with Nurse and Kulak, they were really bad tonight. Kulak seems to really struggle on that right side. But not sure what you do, scratch Kulak and put in Stetch to keep the left right balance?

Klingberg would be my scratch. He’s not quite where we need him speed of decision making wise right now.

Makes me chuckle thinking of every oiler fan here july 1 saying why the hell did we sign 40 year old perry and give him above minimum
Yup....and it continues. I remember arguing with someone at the start of POs. They were saying he shouldn't be in every game. Even in every GDT there's posters that say to sit him. Even at his age there's a reason he so sought after. He's on your team....you make the finals

Been saying this for a while. He’s not a big game player he’s just been on a great team
He was unbelievable in the year they lost in the final, he had a lot of clutch moments and GWGs. I hate the f***er but he’s been injured the last two playoff runs. Pretty sure he’s been dealing with a groin injury since his fight with Hagel at the 4 nations from when Hagel took him down to the ice
