Post-Game Talk: Built. Different.

I think Panthers had to have this game and the Oilers took it. Reminds me a bit of Oilers coming from behind in game 1 against Vegas and winning.

Big beautiful Leon Draisaitl with his 50th career goal for the winner in OT. Mentioning it again because nobody saw the post.
I don’t think Florida needed game 1 but they way they lost it is demoralizing

Obligatory 'STU CAN DO IT' post

Bad challenge and Bob was the only reason this game was as close as it was.

Getting the first game is absolutely huge, especially in the way it happened. Winning the series is going to feel like climbing Everest without oxygen the rest of the way for Florida.
I watched the replay again, and I think it was a good challenge. Should have been overturned.

Good for Knoblauch doubling down, that was 100 % goalie interference.
Bennett doesnt go from having skates touch with Kulak to diving back into Skinner.

The refs are the biggest idiots in the league and dont understand what bennett does.

Hes tried to injure every goalie hes faced so far.

That bald ugly looking clown should go to turkey after he signs his overpriced 10m per year deal and get a hair transplant.

It reminded me of the brutal non-call we got against the Ducks in the playoffs in 2017.

For some reason the league seems to think that just because a player was touched by an Oiler at some point they can throw themselves into the goalie and initiate whatever contact they want legally. The rulebook says they are supposed to make an effort to avoid contact. Bennett did everything except that.

100%, everyone in the world knows what Bennett was doing, just impossible to "prove". f***ing Kesler

Huge huge huge win. Stats are just stats, but the stats are very good for the team that wins game 1 in the Finals, particularly if they're the home team.

For game 2 need to figure out what to do with Nurse and Kulak, they were really bad tonight. Kulak seems to really struggle on that right side. But not sure what you do, scratch Kulak and put in Stetch to keep the left right balance?

Line 3 probably needs to be changed too, they were really bad tonight as well. Thought they looked very slow, particularly Henrique and Frederic.

Podkolzin is an absolute beast and a perfect player for the playoffs. Heavy on the forecheck, great defensively, wasn't intimated at all tonight, and that entire 4th line I thought was pretty good.

Finally, the Stu story, all 4 games the Oilers lost last year he had a negative GSAx. +.71 tonight, if that keeps up they're in very good shape.

Though the Oilers were the better team overall, and some really stupid self inflicted mistakes they should be able to clean up.

I actually agree because it’s clear as day was Bennett is doing there, bulldozing his way towards the net, knowing there’s gonna be some sort of contact with the defender and then falling forward into the goalie but I look at it from the point of view of an officiating stand point where they aren’t going to admit fault and overturn a call unless it’s blatantly obvious and the accidental clash of skates between Bennett and the Oilers player is all they need to uphold their initial.
