Fixed. Czechia is the clear nr 5.
I don't know why you even bother taking the piss like this. Sweden are clearly ahead of Russia and Finland in terms of talent production. Don't overreact to every loss. Czechia have litteraly 1 player who would make a best Team Sweden.

You get one American player and you use it on a backup goalie?

Two good starters really, if you want a roster for a single game only then of course you can go for Merzļikins as the backup which frees space for an American skater. The country pool of goalies in the NHL is small.

Matthews (USA) - McDavid (Canada) - Pastrnak (Czechia)
Ehlers (Denmark) - Kopitar (Slovenia) - Panarin (Russia)
Sharangovich (Belarus) - Dawes (Kazakhstan) - Zuccarello Aasen (Norway)
Chmielewski (Poland) - Rendulic (Croatia) - Gallo (Hungary)

Hedman (Sweden) - Cernak (Slovakia)
Seider (Germany) - Josi (Switzerland)
Nickl (Austria) - Manavian (France)

Merzlikins (Latvia)
Saros (Finland)
Bernard (Italy)

If you want to be strict and take each and every player from a different country Andersen is a must and you'll pretty much have to leave forward spots to the smaller ones, probably meaning Seider over Draisaitl. Otherwise you may end up with Czech or Russian D and that's a bigger downgrade.

Leon Draisaitl (Germany) - Connor McDavid (Canada) - Pastrnak (Czechia)

You could have an Auston Matthews or a Seth Jones instead of Balcers. I mean, you must be a big fan of Rudolf Balcers, but come on.

Or conversely not so high on 2022 Merzļikins, but sure if you take him Balcers is the guy to go. Latvia is probably the smallest country where you actually have to think between positions. Even with Slovakia Fehérváry is ultimately a lock.

If you don't insist on "active NHL players", you could include Leo Komarov (Estonia).

Better than Czechia? Easily, better than Finland? I disagree but it's arguable and the majority will probably agree with you... But better than Russia? Nah, they are 2nd just after Canada.

Sweden have better defencemen, forward depth and centers than Russia. No Russian defenceman would make the Swedish team. I think Sweden are ahead of Russia, but not ahead of the USA. Can’t look at the Russian defencemen and have them in the top 3. It’s as simple as that.

Canada
USA
Sweden
Russia
Finland
Czechia

Is my big 6 ranking.
