Buffalo is looking to shake things up and I believe Smith wants playoffs this year. What I am offering is a trade for Byran. The two key players I am offering are having an off year but would be a strong fit in Buffalo.

Byran for Crouse, Maccelli and Cole. Utah gets the best player but Buffalo gets a young power forward that play strong defence and normally good for 15 to 20 goals, Maccelli who is also young and has a high offensive ceiling and Cole who can help fill the void of Byran. This should help Buffalo and help speed up Utah development. Utah could add picks but I dont see Buffalo wanting that. You could change Cole with Skahan but once again Buffalo wants to win now.

I’m done with the ‘ here’s a few good pieces but you lose the best player ‘ trades. Everyone who gets traded from the Sabres in those trades ends up winning the cup. Just for the sake of mixing things up ? It’s going on 14 years of no playoffs, maybe 15 next season. Not interested. Enough is enough.

Jesus dude, is Byram a #1D or something? Crouse and Macelli have had their warts this year but Macelli is a 60pt RFA player and Crouse is a young top 6 captain material forward who outside of 30 games has looked stellar pretty much his entire career.

Byram is the opposite, he's looked stellar for a handful of games but can't find consistency and is mostly riding off draft pedigree still.

And Cole is like...whatever but he's better defensively than Byram and a lot cheaper. I don't even think this probably works for Buffalo because of cap but the value is staggeringly bad for Utah.

Skahan is a beast of a young prospect but thought you guys might be in the win now mode.

Now sure why posters are Bringing oilers into a Buffalo and Utah thread.

Skahan is a Utah pick in UNI with Boston and that is a pretty deep team. He might not get as much ice time as he needs to develop properly. HE is a monster at 6-4 but 6-4 D men are hit and miss with no middle ground

We remain in miss the playoffs and draft 8OA mode. Again.

Depends what Byram wants to do. I'd like to see the Sabres resign him and keep Power. It's hard to be patient after 13 (+1) seasons without playoffs, but a defense nucleus of Dahlin and those two will be untouchable in 2-3 years.

Wingers and an old defenseman who has little value is not something I would want to trade our 1RD for this. Byram was our best defenseman after Dahlin, more consistent than the others. I like Crouse and Maccelli, but we are weakening our defense a lot with such a deal. If we trade Byram, some top 6 C and top 4 RD figures should return, it could be Byram+.

Byram + Jack Quinn for Cole Beaudoin + Crouse +Daniil But + Cole (cap reasons I assume)?

Make it simple Crouse and But for Byran? Utah will grab the torches because of But but to get good talent you have to give good talent

I would prefer to keep Beaudoin
Ask Buffalo.

I've always appreciated Crouse's game. He's solid. And Daniil But seems to be playing well in the KHL in his D+2 season.

It's two solid pieces for one solid piece. But Byram still carries the most value IMO.

Byram's been pretty good for Buffalo on a team that has many guys under performing (Cozens, Quinn, Jokiharji, Krebs and Mattias Samuelsson who really sucks this season for some reason).

Power hasn't been good enough either.

A lot is going wrong there. Hard to put a finger on just one guy or cause.

Utah would be better to go after Cozens than Byram.
