Interesting article, that was indeed the way I remembered it - they were just rolling by the time the playoffs started. I also remember the betting lines, they were playing higher seeded teams every round, but as early as the second round they were already betting favorites despite starting on the road because by that time it was obvious to the entire world how good they were.
