Post-Game Talk: Buffalo Sabres @ New York Nashers 3/3/13

I wonder who Ryan Miller will complain about tonight. Wonder if he will shut up and swallow the loss as his own failing.

Marc Staal is just unbelievable. It's scary that there are nights when he plays on the 2nd pair.

Rick Nash is good at hockey. That about sums him up.

Definitely nice to see Richards come back and play after that scary hit, but isn't it odd that he is off the PP for 1 minute and the Rangers scored 2 goals?

Lundqvist was good, but I thought Gerbe's goal was savable.

Stepan looked great tonight. Would like to see Gaborik with him and Callahan

Brian Boyle is slow.

P.S. What did Miller do to earn 2nd star honors when he didn't record a point?

The good: we won, the PP scored, lundqvist in the shootout, richards appears to be ok, staal

The bad: slow start, defencesive lapses, McD's turnovers

The Redden: Kaleta, refs call on the Staal penalty, the main board.

1 pt out of 8th with 3 games in hand

For all the flack that Lundqvist has gotten by fans...

He's 6-3-1, .928SV% and a 1.97 GAA in his last 10 games...

I think he is doing just fine for us, and his OT performance was another testament of that.

He played so well and brought it in, hit shot, etc.

Cally straight up schooled Miller on that SO goal. Miller did his homework-- the last two times Cally scored, he went high left side after a slight hesitation. Cally faked that same move and then deked right. OWNED.

To sum up the Sabres GDT:
- Richards sold it
- Girardi hit on Ennis as bad as Kaletas hit on Richards.

This is a reasonable reaction from a fan of the other team to be honest. Both of those hits were bad, but the refs did get it right. I really hope Richards had a"stinger" and wasn/t selling it though, I hate that garbage.

Oh, and am I the only one who thought McDonagh looked terrible? He hasn't looked himself recently. For my money, Staal has been our best overall defense man this season.

I picked on him after the Jets game, so let me say that Lundqvist was real solid the last two games.

I don't understand Torts in regards to the Power Play.

He has no problem juggling lines at the first glimpse of trouble.
Yet he continues to have Richards run the PP along with Del Zotto.

WHY doesn't he pull Richards off the top unit and plug in Gaborik?
Richards is not that playmaker, keeping him there is stubborness and is only hurting the Rangers and Richards confidence.

I don't get why the coach who yanks players left and right on even strength won't do it here.

Am I the only one who doesn't like how the wallpaper for their studio is MSG during a Knicks game? I know it's very hard to tell, but if you look at the banner on the right, it says "knicks.com"

Nash
Staal
Stepan

HM: Miller

Good: Gaborik, Hagelin
Bad: McDonagh, Girardi in the last minutes
Redden: All the penalties at the end of the game

Ryan Callahan showing his apparent lack of skill in the shootout :sarcasm:

In honor of him being absolute money in the shootout, please rise for the national anthem of the United States of America
