Down 1 going into the 3rd against the worst team in the league in a must win game and Eichel doesn't have a single shift in the 3rd that generated anything.
I'm so ready for this. He's a common denominator in a lot of bad hockey and doesn't appear to get better. One last thing...
Can anyone honestly tell me with a straight face that Rasmus Ristolainen has to be on this team?
At least one GM will value him way more than what he is.
Get gone
When a team regresses like this, there is only one person you can look at. This coach has to go.
It took every one of these guys working together to lose this one.
When can we start making playoff avatars?
I don't disagree that this team could maybe be ~5 points better with a GREAT coach.Good coaches get mediocre teams into the playoffs.
Its passed that...theres no reworking this roster at this point. That ship has sailed.I have to wonder what coach says- are they not listening, not executing, or no gameplan works?

But this team's problems have been scapegoated by themselves enough. We need to stop losing top 6 players, and start adding them.

I can't believe we're still waiting to see Risto as a 20 minute, 2nd pair, offensively-used defenseman. This team would be a lot better shouldering his load over other pairings, because sure, he "exists" in those tough minutes, but anybody can vomit pucks to the other teams' D standing at neutral ice and cross check people moments after they've scored on us. He could actually have positive value to the team if we felt like trying to get it out of him.I'm probably one of the few who actually like Risto for what he brings, not for what the coach wants him to do though. If Risto was deployed as a middle pairing physical defenseman, and a 1B power play specialist, I think hed be fine.
Playing him like a 1D over and over expecting different results is insanity. At this point just trade him for another first and a decent defensive prosect. Try to get someone like Juolevi for him, or package him with something else for an upgrade.

What I mean by that, is stick him out there when he's far away from his own net. His o-zone tendencies are more conducive to the Sabres retaining the puck than his d-zone ones by orders of magnitude. How can he be used offensively if all he does is randomly throw pucks
I was going to give you your props because I was pretty sure I read this earlier.HMMMMM
