He ruined his own career. And Marner certainly didn’t get him fired from his job with the Blue Jackets before he even coached a game
Without that story coming out and all the bad Leaf’s PR. He finds another job, and gets to keep it. In fact he nearly did in CBJ.

So you're mad at the messenger, not the fact he was an abusive and borderline psychopath?
I’m not “mad” at anything. That’s coming from you. I’m just stating the facts of the case.

He had plenty of bad PR before Marner. Players from the Redwings were already talking about the stuff he pulled there.
And what happened to that job in CBJ?
Oh did he? Sure. But he still got the most lucrative coaching contract in NHL history. That bad eh?

It’s the Toronto PR campaign that put the nail in the coffin of his career. Put his whole character issues on blast on a level that wouldn’t have happened and didn’t happen anywhere else. Including Detroit.

Good the Leafs PR did that. Anything else you'd like to contribute here?

LOL.

Whatever. If he is such a great coach that was only a victim of a Leafs PR campaign maybe the Oilers should hire him.
You guys love our cast offs and don’t seem to care about character issues

Good or bad. I don’t care. But it’s definitely what happened. No Marner fiasco, no Leaf’s stint, and he’s still coaching in this League. That’s a fact. Sorry that it triggers you, it doesn’t trigger me though. Just stating the facts.

Don't worry about it. They are playing the Habs on Tuesday!

;)
Meh..they'll find a way to lose and make the Habs look like it's the late 1970s all over again.

I follow both the Sabres and Bruins, this season I've followed the Bruins a lot closer. Following Buffalo is really hard to do at this point. It's painful.

Remember after the McEichel draft their fans claimed they "We're years ahead of Toronto in their rebuild and Babcock made a mistake when he chose the Leafs over the Sabres"

If you look back on what the Buffalo Sabres had in-house between 2016 and 2018 they had a lot of special pieces that went on to do some great things in the NHL. Eichel, Reinhart, O'Reilly, Bogosian, Rodrigues all have Stanley Cups from separate runs. Hagel, Ullmark, Borgen, McCabe went on to be solid and above average NHLers.

Well the Leafs are Canada's Team and since he decided to play out his antics in a the hockey mecca, home to both TSN (Toronto Sports Network) and LeafsNet, he had it coming and I'm glad he got it.

I commend Sabres fans that still go to see games live and still support their team throughout this nightmare decade that they’ve been through. Not easy to support a team and keep watching when it’s constant negative energy around the team and they keep losing.

I hope Sabres find success very soon for the fans. Buffalo is an amazing sports market and a great hockey city. It’s time to make changes, bring competent management in place and hire a coach that can build off some core pieces in place.

The NHL is a better league when the Sabres are a good team.

People need to understand something very clear about the Lindy Ruff hire. Something that explains everything that is an actual disaster in the organization.

1. He is the only coach the cheap owner would pay for because New Jersey is paying most of his salary for his two year deal.

2. The cheap owner will only hire people he already trusts and knows.

That leaves a circle that contains exactly one name in it.

Since Domi and McCabe are playing for the Leafs and Lindy Ruff is coaching the Sabres, maybe they can find a Hasek and Peca....really make it early 2000s vibe for when they meet again on Friday.

This is exhibit A on how to ruin a franchise. They drafted very good players but they traded them away for almost nothing.

Well I wouldn’t be too proud that Canada’s team rid the NHL of him. We all know he’d still be coaching there if the Leafs were able to win a round. :D
