How many top 10 picks have the Sabers had in the last 13 seasons ? How in the world have they not qualified for the playoffs at least once? Oilers fans were on suicide watch after 10. Such a futile Stat. Might as well make it 14 seasons at this point. Organization should be embarrassed and be thankful the Sabres have great fans. Embarrassing.

These are the players the Sabres have drafted in round 1 since they last made the playoffs:

2012 - Grigorenko (12), Girgensons (14)
2013 - Ristolainen (8), Zadorov (16)
2014 - Reinhart (2)
2015 - Eichel (2)
2016 - Nylander (8)
2017 - Mittlestadt (8)
2018 - Dahlin (1)
2019 - Cozens (7), Johnson (31)
2020 - Quinn (8)
2021 - Power (1), Rosen (14)
2022 - Savoie (9), Ostlund (14), Kulich (28)
2023 - Benson (13)
2024 - Helenius (14)

I see a 1C, 1W, 1D, and a good 2nd pair D among others. That is on paper a good core to build a team around. For whatever reason the team just cant.

Adams reminds me of other amazing GMs with tons of success like Shero and Dubas. If given the choice, he picks the player with the most points.

Buffalo needs someone who will commit to building a team. I don’t know why it seems like they always attract the worst GMs and the worst coaches.

You think the suck is your ally, but you merely adopted the suck. Sabres were born in it, molded by it. They haven't seen a winning season since Lane Hutson was in kindergarten.
Lane was shitting in his Huggies while Hasek was making highlight reel saves 🤣

Sabres need to nuke the front office I think. They got pieces that look good on paper.
I believe Sabres needs to nuke everything, a true cultural reset is needed. Get rid of Coaching Staff / Front Office / Players, and most importantly, bring in a outsider to be president of hockey ops and stop having the owner meddling in hockey business. (Easier said then done obviously).

Every single year this organization goes threw a massive losing skid that completely derails their season. Buffalo surely has to have noticed every "star" player that they have had and struggles, get traded to a team with a proper foundation and flourishes.

Once they purposely tanked for McDavid, they never recovered. Murray was tasked to dump everyone and anyone he could. Then, after he was fired in 2017, they brought in rookie GM Botterill, but at least he put in a decade with Pitt's front office. But, it didn't work out. But, why roll the dice on inexperienced Adams? He had like a year in management only at the time.

Seem like a collection of talent, but not a team.

It's time for Sabres players, coaches, and players to pull a George Costanza and do the opposite of what they think that they should do in any given situation

State of the Sabres right now
