Dowd has been regressing as the season goes on. I know we all love our new players and rookies but would he really be that hard to replace if Vegas takes him? Don't get me wrong I really like the guy and see more potential but then I see a player like Forbert and now Kempe and there's just that extra something that makes a guy excited for the future.

Pearson - Carter - Kempe would be a fun fast line

Dowd's biggest asset right now is his cap hit. You can't teach cheap. I loved him at the start of the season when everything was hopeful and whatever, but he's 27. Exceptionally long shot he's going to become much more than he is right now. I doubt Vegas takes him and I think he's a bridge gap until Amadio gets a look at 3C.

I worry about the bottom six without Lewis. I'd rather they lose Dowd or McNabb, or work out a deal so that Lewis isn't selected. Losing him would create a significant hole in the bottom six I think.

With that said, I wouldn't lose any tears if they moved Muzzin's dumbass for a couple of young pieces, like what they flipped Demitra or Visnovsky for.
