Ok so this a weird deal but idk.

To Pittsburgh:

Evander Kane
Cody Franson
Either of your goalies

To Buffalo:

Derrick Pouliot
Marc-Andre Fleury
Chris Kunitz

Here are my thoughts behind it:

-Pens need to trade Fleury and should move Kunitz. They both have partial NTCs. Buffalo has their old coach and is about geographically close as you can get for two family guys.

-Buffalo wants to move Kane, they'll probably get less than they paid, but still need to fill a need. I know that there's a good chance Kane is just a bad human and bringing him is folly, but I and a lot of other people over the years have theorized that his skill-set is a great match for Sid.

-Buffalo needs LHD help and more offense. Pouliot is a LHD OFD. Pens will not be able to protect Pouliot in expansion and would be better served trading him.

Obviously the problem for this deal is the sabers goalies are at .921 and .934 right now, which is why I'm offering up probably Pitt's biggest trade chip, at a position I believe is still a long term hole for Buffalo. Honestly pure value wise I feel like Buffalo should add a 2nd or 3rd, but they have less reason to want and do this kind of deal.

So what do ya think.

No thanks. Nothing against the value I suppose but I'd have no interest in adding fleury's salary and having to protect tthe other two.

This is bad for Buffalo.

Fluery has 2 more years left with a NMC thus be forced to protect. That means Buffalo will lose in the trade or waivers Lehner who they gave up a first round pick for and is 7 years younger at least relative to MAF

Id keep Kane over Kunitz.

Pouloit is worthwhile to acquire but not at that cost given he is on LTIR so he would not be helping Buffalo anytime soon only to have them trqde one of their roster Dmen.

Would Pouliot for Bailey work?

The G would have to be Lehner in order to make the salary work, and that would be a hard sell for TM considering the trade he made to acquire him. Fluery is a major cap commitment in order to acquire Pouliot. Sabres would like a LHD, but it really would only make sense if it's a top-pairing guy. Buffalo can still dump Franson and Kane in other trades and not take so much cap, or lose their starting G.

Definitely not from a Pens POV. They don't need a RW prospect at all. The only thing that would make sense for in a Pouliot trade is if they're trading him for an expansion ineligible defenseman. Something like Pouliot for Deangelo from Arizona (I don't think they'd do that due to how well Deangelo has played, but something like that).

Pouloit is worthwhile to acquire but not at that cost given he is on LTIR so he would not be helping Buffalo anytime soon only to have them trqde one of their roster Dmen.

Pouliot is due back really soon, he played in 2 games with WBS already. He's probably still on LTIR for cap reasons, he wouldn't be playing even if he wasn't on LTIR.

I'm from Winnipeg but I've been a Penguins fan since 1991 when I was ten. Since the Jets came back I've been a Jets fan as well. So I'm very familiar with Kane. He's a cancer, do not want him on Pittsburgh. Rather have Kunitz.

Absolute NO to Kane.

I don't want that piece of **** anywhere near the Penguins unless he's the opponent.

I say yes because we're not giving up much of value, but I'm not high at all on Derrick Pouliot.

Like, I don't see him being a top 4 defenceman.

I think both of the teams involved say no to various reasons, despite the value being somewhat similar. Expansion draft really throws a wrench into things

If it didn't include Pouliot/Franson I'd do it with a 2nd rounder added from the Penguins. That probably means Buffalo wouldn't though.

Lousy deal for Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh gets a bad overpaid Dman and a problem child in Kane.

Pittsburgh needs to clear some cap, not add crap.

Bad for Buffalo? LOL. You get rid of a cancer in Kane, a career underachiever and a lousy Dman in Franson. I really don't know how someone can honestly make the comment you did. There is no value in those two players whatsoever.

I don't see any realistic trade between Buffalo and Pittsburgh.
