Let me see Boldy, Kap and Zuccarello takes 3 of wild 4 top wingers, so this comes down to wild needing one more winger in top 4. The top 6 will be Foligno and a whoever is next to Folignp. Quinn literally isn't good and won't be in wild top 4

if wild getting Peterka , that's a winger. Liam Ohgren also is need of a spot especially with the fact that wild planning to be active in free agency. More than Likely Ryan Hartman gets spot next to foligno on 3rd line after his playoffs. Danila Yurov will be 2c or 3c. Brock Nelson will be 2c or 3c since it seems like a forgone conclusions. So What I am saying by wild needing Only one winger is that 3 of the top 4 winger roles are taken and then most likely the 3rd line will be filled with guy like Foligno and Hartman and or Ohgren

Rossi is a good player but I don’t see how he is what Buffalo needs. As I mentioned in another thread, I think Noah Ostlund, he was awesome in the AHL once healthy to end last year, isn’t far off from being a very similar type of center. With Helenius also in the fold and Kulich looking very capable at center, I don’t think Rossi profiles as the right type of upgrade at that 2C spot. I don’t think he’d play over McLeod even though he is more talented, and I don’t think the Sabres would swap McLeod for him in a deal. It has less to do with value and more to do with fit. Dealing Peterka for Rossi is, IMO, also highly unappetizing.

Brodin if he were a RHS…would be manna from heaven. Experienced but not “old” and an absolute warrior defensively. But as a LHD, I think the fit is not quite as seamless. Still, I think he’s a guy the Sabres would definitely look at if available, especially if Byram is sacrificed for that 2C upgrade.

I agree with a lot of this. Sabres board regulars know Ostlund is my guy. But I think they need to win now, and I don’t mind stacking the center position deep.
