Seravalli: Buffalo may not have a choice but to trade Peterka

Sure yet there is nuance to all of those data points. Should we go back to your takes on Ekholm?
He’s also still convinced Adams is some mastermind with a plan. Don’t know how you can still believe that after the last 2 seasons.

Djp has been borderline abusive to anybody who wanted to spend money they’re saving for “the young guys” now the young guys want to get paid and they’re not doing it. Hmmmm

Greig and Jensen for Peterka? Greig is capable and arguably better playing as a 3C right now, and Jensen is that top 4 defensive dman.
I'd probably want Zub in any Peterka deal. We really need to concentrate on getting the best defensive defenseman we can if we do move JJ. I remember liking Jensen a lot in years past, but I really find it hard to believe he has much tread left on the tires at 34 years old.

Yeah, my apologies, I actually meant to put Zub down over Jensen, but I was severe multitasking when I wrote it haha.

What would Buffalo want from Detroit? Kasper is probably not on the table, but I'd think the other prospects outside of ASP would all be fair game. I know they probably don't want prospects - any roster players other than Kasper that could work for BUF?

I wonder if Rasmussen + Albert Johansson + 13OV + could be the basis for something? I'd be happy to include Nate Danielson as well in a deal but again I don't know if Buffalo wants prospects.

Unfortunately we probably don't make good trading partners. But Peterka is exactly what we need and is good friends with Seider to boot.

Why don’t Adams and Geurin just swap JJP and Rossi?
Wait a minute, you just said yesterday that Rossi to Vancouver is a done deal waiting for the end of the Calder Cup finals to be announced?

  • Haha
Reactions: Fatass
Could definitely start talking about picks instead but I don't think these teams are good trade partners. Both want the same thing.
Sabres need jam in their lineup, Utah has it in spades. Utah needs skill in their lineup and Buffalo has that. I dont agree at all. I think its the best matchup for a trade in the league from our perspective.

Utah has jam because their roster has been crafted that way. The GM is especially vocal about building a bigger D corps. That's why I don't think Kesselring is available and why Durzi possibly is.

Crouse has jam and size and would be available in a package. On top of that we can only really offer role players and B prospects or picks.

Crouse is the right type of player, however, at the same point, at his current value. He is worth NOTHING. Based on his season last year, he's not much of an upgrade over Greenway. I like Durzi, but simply put, absolutely NOT.

its funny when someone brings up RD and someone says they haven't gotten to the offseason yet when we have had this problem for the last 5 offseasons with the same GM.

For every one there are 50 who don't. Its called calculated risk. By the way Ekholm isn't done yet eith the contact he's on.

We've seen kreider and zibs fall off as well as others.

Congrats, you and Kevyn’s “calculated risks” have gotten the team worse year over year the last 2 years after nearly making it as the youngest team in the league.
