Not for Buffalo it isn't. It's turning a 1st line winger into a middle 6 winger and it's not even like Lafreniere is on a good deal either @ 7.45 a year. If you move Peterka it should be to address a real need (top 4 defensive defenseman, middle 6 center, etc).

Greig and Jensen for Peterka? Greig is capable and arguably better playing as a 3C right now, and Jensen is that top 4 defensive dman.

I’m sure we’d trade with NYR if they ever offered the best value for whatever we’re selling, but both the team and a large swath of its fanbase seem to think their 13th best prospect and a cap dump are god’s gifts to hockey.

Why would the Sabres only be interested in a D that is U27? Most D, except the super elite (Makar, Hughes) are entering their best years at 27/28.
