No way, shape or form am I likely giving up a likely lotto ball for McKenna. We're not just a Roberston away from being a legit playoff team. Especially if we're giving up the guy who's the 2nd-best defenseman we have at actually playing defense.

I value Robertson very highly, he is Corey Perry without the tenacity. And better defensively. JJ to Robertson is a good young player to a top 20 winger improvement.

Clifton is good, but Dallas wants an expiring deal to free up cap and he is reasonable in his cap hit.

The 2026 first is hard to lose, but I’d say the Sabres have a 5% chance or less at actually getting McKenna. I’d rather give them 9th in this draft, but if push came to shove, I’d consider 26 1st

This is what people say about Rossi too, but the reality is these organizations don't want the distraction, and they want the assets, so a trade is far more likely to happen than just "okay so sit out for the season".

What’s actually more likely is that Seravelli is talking out of his ass or Peterka’s agent is negotiating through the media. The odds there’s anything to this rumor at all are not high, imo.

Sabres need to build a club this summer that can make the playoffs next season. JJP is a big part of that build. Either directly as a player or indirectly in the value in trade he brings back.

Nah, Buffalo would be making out like BANDITS if the Sens did this trade. Reuniting the Drake and Josh synergy would be incredible for their first line. Batherson is also the more complete player of the two... And that's saying something.

Buffalo would have to pay a premium IMO, especially since it's within division.

As I said above Peterka is what you hope 7th OA becomes.

Peterka is the likely target for their 4OA pick in terms of what is possibly available.

On other drafts I'd do 4OA. This draft class..no.

I said in other thread...Utah would be crazy to trade 4OA.

Historically no team has outright traded s yop t pick for a roster player. 7-10 have gone for roster players. Even then those are rare.many of them were rush/ panic/ pressure t o do something moves

You don't know that. Peterka could sign a bridge contract. I wouldn't count on having same production numbers being a plus for Batherson considering he is 4 years older.
