The realistic expectation is Peterka either signs here or is matched for a contract taking him to UFA. Packaging Power+ should get you nothing less than McAvoy. You are seriously underselling Powers value if you are adding to him to get a #3/4 D.

I think the only possible way Conroy entertains trading Weegar is in a deal to acquire a legit top line center. Adding yet another smaller left shot winger isn't going to move the needle for this team and certainly not at the expense of a top 15ish defender in the NHL at the moment.

McDavid is a very sore spot with some of us Sabres fans. The “tank” season was all about getting him. It is fair to say that the Sabres would be a different team if they picked number one
