Does Buffalo really need another center after acquiring Norris and McLeod?

I assume McLeod is going to cost at least 5-6M per to re-sign after putting up 53 points and Norris makes 7.85M.

With Thompson in the 1C role as well, where is the room to add anyone at center beyond the 4th line?

The concern is on Norris and long term health.

Assuming Buffalo were to trade Byram and Peterka the 23 man roster looks like

I’ve heard from at least one source that Peterka is the owner’s favorite young player, his prize possession. So I don’t buy this rumor either, though I do think they should consider trading him to bring some toughness and balance to the forward group.

I do wonder what Lindy thinks of him, as the owner really seems to respect him and would probably ultimately defer to him on Peterka.

We need a legit second line center who can handle defensive responsibilities. If Minny would consider Eriksson Ek, I'd love to make that type of deal happen.

Yeah, but that's never going to happen, especially when you factor in JEE's absolute honey of a contract, the fact that he is the the defacto #1C in MN, and that Guerin and Hynes love his physical, Selke worthy style of play.

Sabres would have to throw a lot more than JJP at MN to get JEE, and even then, JEE is one of the last players MN would consider moving...maybe literally the last one, if Kaprizov's contract demands get out of hand.

I loved Toronto - went to University of Toronto in the aughts. If I could have swung it, I would still probably be up there. So that's a hard sell for me. I would agree with Niagara Falls (as evidenced by me going there like twice in the last 14 years).

That was my assumption. I dont like Rossi as a one for one for Peterka, and with the center hole we have if Minny called and asked I'd probably bring JEK up as my wish (if I were the GM)

There hasn’t been one report locally that Peterka wants out btw. Not one. Frank said it heading into the deadline…and now he’s doubled down on it heading into the offseason. Not one person who reports on the Sabres can find one shred of evidence it’s true.

As for having no choice…he’s an RFA for four more years. They have four years of choices.

Depending how long ago you went to UoT you might not even recognize it. It's turned into a dirty, smelly, sad city now. Homeless all over the place and probably the worst traffic in the country.
