Take it for what it's worth because it's Frank.

But he just did a YouTube video for daily faceoff and when they get to their trade target section he says that he believes that things have gone sideways between Buffalo and Peterka and that they may not have a choice but to trade him.

If that's true that's pretty bad he's a very good, young player.

The upside is there would be A LOT of interest they would get a solid return but it wouldn't be JJ Peterka

Why does Buffalo always seem to have issues with so many players etc. Seems there is always drama. It is no wonder they never make the playoffs. So unstable for one reason or another.
Not a lot in the area that is appealing for young 20 something world class athletes. It is a beautiful area to live in with great proximity to Toronto, Niagara Falls, the Finger Lakes, etc, and we have no shortage of players who retire in the area to raise their families, but it is a bore for a lot of players.

When you combine that with the lack of hockey success (ie the soul crushing weight of hopelessness), it makes it a hard sell.

Meddling owners. Honestly they need to invest in management and cleaning house.

I know Shanahan is a meme but for Toronto he did a lot of good work in his first years changing everything about the organization. I think they need that in Buffalo.

I don't think it's the city. Winning can make it a destination.
Buffalo's needs:

1.) A RHD who can actually play defense and PK
2.) A two-way center
3.) A LHD who can play with Dahlin and soak lots of minutes and play defense

We've got wing prospects coming out the ears....we DON'T need any of those

A lot of teams need that 1 2 and 3 (though not Dahlin specific)

Peterka though would be a huge dangling piece though should definitely be the piece of be one of the pieces to make it happen.

We have an Erik Karlsson and a Tommy Novak and possibly a Owen Pickering.

We also like Byram. And we have lots of non pens 1st round draft picks.

Honestly, I don't think there are any prospects (or even roster players) that would be off limits for Peterka or certainly not in a deal around him and Byram.

Frank shouldv'e lost all credibility here when he 100% claimed Gibson would no longer be a Duck

In terms of Buffalo specifically, that with all of these supposed piles of offers, there was only one hinted at by any other "insider" and that being the Rangers. In terms of every other team, the list would give me carpal tunnel to type out.

Him and Byram both moving could be a good thing to improve the team overall as they are both worth a lot in return. If he is getting a bridge for 2-3 years at $5m or under, Vegas would be an interesting spot. By the end of the bridge, Vegas would be able to sign him long term with Stone, Pietrangelo and more done by then.

Peterka (and like a mid/late pick or nothing prospect) for William Karlsson and Zach Whitecloud.

It'll probably be a trade that makes them worse though, because Sabres.

Hes a Centre right? Edit RW but still should be a target.
Nucks have lots of solid D prospects in Willander, Mancini (whos looked very impressive) Mynio, Kudriatzev plus the 15th overall.

Gavrikov is going to get paid this off season.

Willander?
If you’re interested in a younger guy, he’s probably the best piece you’re gonna get.

Does Buffalo really need another center after acquiring Norris and McLeod?

I assume McLeod is going to cost at least 5-6M per to re-sign after putting up 53 points and Norris makes 7.85M.

With Thompson in the 1C role as well, where is the room to add anyone at center beyond the 4th line?

Not all that surprising. Horrible ownership. Sub-average management. Coaching....uhh.....yeah. Team has regressed the last two years and the team keeps hemorrhaging its talent as they approach UFA years. If I was Peterka's agent, I would definitely be looking to leverage the situation in my client's favor, if that is what Peterka has made known to him.

Chicago will be all over Peterka

Any of the following pieces fit?

Connor Murphy (RHD) or Louis Crevier (RHD)
Jason Dickinson (two way C) or Ryan Greene (two way C)
Wyatt Kaiser (LHD) or Kevin Korchinski (LHD) or Nolan Allan (LHD)

I think they'd all be made available for Peterka

Buffalo fans don't trust Norris will stay healthy, and prefer Thompson on the wing and/or don't see him as the 1C on a competing team.
