Clague, through 5 games played, has a corsi of 68%. He is not getting caved.

He's been a very solid partner for Power as Power has taken steps in the last few games. Clague has kept it simple and is holding his position well. Fitz on the other hand has struggled with losing his positioning and also making ill-timed pinches both offensively and trying to body check.

Buffalo has 3 good goalie prospects in Luukkonen, Portillo and Levi.

Anderson and Comrie are immediate stop gaps while waiting for some of those 3 to make it to the show.

And if one of Comrie or Anderson doesn't do the job, they'll just call up Luukkonen.

Question is Portillo signing?

Buffalo's not looking for goaltending...We are just coming out of the decade-long hole that we've been in....The team still is still figuring out who's going to be here and who's not....Our goaltender of the future may very well be Comrie or one of the younger goalies in our system.

Ok thank you

on Portillo….he has another year of college eligibility left after this year. It’s reported that education is important to him so he could return for senior year.

with Johnson…he’s in his senior year so he has played 4 yrs after this one. So his UFA date is August 16, 2023. If Buffalo does not sign him they will get a comp pick at #31 of the 2nd round. In terms of any return in a trade, it would have to be more than that.

I'm not convinced that anyone available right now would be an improvement. Hill or Brossoit could be available once the latter is healthy. Davidson could want to ship a goalie like Stalock out of Chicago since they're playing too well to tank (Soderblom is interesting, but I wouldn't trade him if I were them). As for teams that are already out of it, Reimer is always mentioned in San Jose.

I think Comrie and Anderson as a platoon are just as good as any of them, and any adds would be betting on potential fit. I think Gibson is past his best years personally, but he's always the name you hear. I think Buffalo would be better playing the year out and waiting to see what UPL, Levi, or Portillo can do. They're stacked in the pipeline.
Your horses are running wild man. It is early november, about 12 games into the season. Chicago could still finnish last in the league and no team is "already out of it".

Here’s how the goalie situation is going to play out.

This year they’ll let Anderson and Comrie play no matter how bad it gets because they don’t care about goalie.

Next year Anderson will retire and UPL will come up to compete for starts with Comrie while Levi starts all the games in Rochester. UPL and Comrie will play no matter how bad it gets because they don’t care about goalie.

In two years Comrie’s contract is up and they’ll bring up Levi to compete for starts with UPL. Levi and UPL will play no matter how bad it gets because they don’t care about goalie.

In three years…if UPL sucks and Levi hasn’t progressed they will wait for all 31 teams to settle their goalie situation before signing someone off the scrap heap because they don’t care about goalie.

In four years, after missing the playoffs for 15 straight seasons, I assume someone else will be in charge who may care about goalie. We will then reassess.

Whats someone who cares about goalies supposed to do though?

Theres really no goalie on the market that wikl improve the situation in Buffalo... at least theyre not worth giving assets.

And no team is giving a starter. If they wanted one, they should have gone for Kuemper during the offseason, but then again the timing with his age and all might not have fit.

UPL, Levi are as good tickets as they get (Portillo idk). In the meantime if a legit starter gets available you keep your eyes open I guess?

I've lived in Florida for 41 years now, i've lived through thousands of floods. The latest being Hurricane Ian.

Wow. "Thousands of floods".... My math skills are rusty, but I will try to figure this out... 41 years, multiple by 52 weeks ... 7 days in a week..... divided by multiple thousands... ummm... carry the three and... uhhhh.... that's like... ummm.... minimum of 7.2 floods a year. That is a lot of floods my friend.

And yet you kept rebuilding. That is some serious resolve!

So let me ask you this, "You would rather get flooded out, have all your possessions destroyed and go through the whole process of cleanup and mold remediation than get snowed in for a couple of days?"

Out of curiosity, does the term Chionophobia mean anything to you by chance? ;)

He's tired of Hurricanes?

I'd rather put up with Florida hurricanes, than Buffalo blizzards.

I know as an 8-year Floridian, I've had just about enough of hurricanes. And I've been through some blizzards ('77, '85, the October Surprise) and at this point, I'm done with the hurricanes.

Now back to the silliness of Bob waiving his trade protection to go to a team he has no ties to.
