The Rangers getting Eichel on a massive deal when he's already 30 after swinging and missing on trading for him at 25 is too perfect
I said that yesterday but if he actually gets to UFA I would still sign him. Even at 30. Elite centers don’t ever reach UFA and the odds the rangers either trade for one or draft one in the near future is unlikely.

Let me play ball with that for a second.

Cuylle-Chytil-Rantanen
Panarin-Trocheck-Lafreniere

I think Chytil-Rantanen would cook. Get a stopgap center and put them with Berard. Fix the defense.

I still don't know if he's a $14m player, Jesus Chris, but whatever. I'm on board with it.

It would tick the f*** out my "this team isn't actually that talented" box.

And unlike Brady, we know what he is in the playoffs, and also unlike Brady, there's no qualms about whether or not Rantanen is actually him, or if we would be paying grit tax. He's a legit world-class player.

Find a way to have Rantanen and Panarin. Let's get insane.
I’d be on board as well , I just have a hard time seeing him get to FA. In any case adding Rantanen and Perreault next season would be a huge infusion of talent. Sell off Kreider and Kakko

Rantanen also ticks the Kakko box, assuming he's still around

I think Mikko is an all around better player

Will the cap work with Zibanejad still here?

Minnesota would acquire Trocheck this summer. The Suter and Parise buyout money drops significantly next season. $14.7M combined to $1,666,667 combined for each of the next 4 seasons. Guerin is the GM of US 4 Nations team. Drury, Zito and Fitzgerald are AGM's.

If Chytil didn't have the injury worries, move him to 2nd line center and find a a defensive minded center for the 3rd line.

I like it — problem is if Chytil’s career ends, but I guess that’s a problem written into our immediate future regardless unless we fully rebuild, which won’t happen.

Their goal, yep, wrong side of the player, no contact, easy play

Now do more than a 4 game sample

I don't really understand where people get off attributing a successful string of games of a Presidents' Trophy winning team that had two other seasons of 107points and 110 points to a 4th liner that played 3 minute a game. Explain this to me like I'm 5.

It appears I was reading Puckpedia incorrectly, Im still adjusting to the new system after capfriendly got bought out lol. Even more reason to trade him tbh.
May I suggest Capwages if you prefer the old layout style.

We do realize without Trocheck we have like zero NHL centers? The guy just had an unreal season last year doing pretty much everything asked.
Chytil is our best 200 ft player for sure but would you put money on him staying healthy?

Trocheck had a bad start but he's been very good the past few weeks. people just don't know what they're watching. even if he regresses to a 3C that contract is still fine.

Well, people that are soft and play hockey sometimes like to have someone to protect them so they can play a way they are usually uncomfortable with because they're cowards. As well with the moral at an all time low it would do us well to have a guy who the players like, has a great attitude and works every shift in the lineup. The team is relatively the same as last year, they should be a presidents trophy candidate again, what's missing....heart, attitude and cohesiveness. The team is soft as butter, if Rempe makes everyone an inch taller and lightens the mood in the dressingroom it helps. I can't explain it any more than that and I'm not sure if you played any type of junior or pro hockey but having someone who has your back matters, it always has in hockey and there's no stats that can prove or disprove it, just statements from all the players in all pro leagues. We are exactly back to where we were with regards to toughness when Panarin got rag dolled, not for nothing Trochek got beat up last night too and crickets.
