Sabres pushed us around all over the ice. Ran into Igor, played dirty, and we had zero push back, unless you consider Tro nearly getting his head knocked off pushing back. Our defense is small and/or soft .

I had a small glimmer of hope that things would get better with Trouba gone, but they've gotten worse.

Only line I liked tonight was the 4th.

I'm a little surprised at the takes tonight; I thought we played a very good road game. It was far from a picasso, but that's a desperate team in their barn with a lot of skill and we competed well. Blocked a ton of shots, much better shot suppression and better coverage of the middle of the ice all night. Buffalo is much improved this year under Ruff and UPL played a very good game.

Big picture, they actually tried tonight. It's crazy that we have to categorize that as a positive when it should be a 24/7 thing is pathetic but hey, NY sports.

If they put forth that level of compete until the deadline, they should easily be able to float around a wildcard spot. And then you make your moves at the deadline with a booty load of cap space to play with.
