Buffalo and Utah are the two teams I watch 20+ games from each year unfortunately. I've been thinking for a while what trade I can come up with to help both teams.
My proposal is a swap of Bowen Byram for Dmitri Simashev.
Buffalo has an excessive of offensive defensemen. Simashev likely comes over to the NHL this summer and gives Buffalo much more of what Buffalo needs on the blue line. Even if Simashev takes a little time to adjust, Buffalo probably is on a slightly longer time scale to realistically make the playoffs than Utah is. And just like it's possible Simashev takes time to adjust, it's also possible he comes in and really helps. Byram, while redundant in Buffalo, makes Utah considerably better now. Put Byram in place of Ian Cole next to Kesselring on Utah's second pair.
