-Cirelli and a "significant plus" as someone put it.

-Cernak, Geekie and a 2nd.

-4 1st round picks.
Where did someone offer, let alone reject any of these? I can make stuff up to.

I can't believe Lightning fans would reject Tuch straight up for Cage Goncalves. That's hilarious really.

See?

I can't multi quote but Geekie Cernak 2nd for Tuch (and Lafferty sorry, who makes it even worse for TB).

"I wouldnt.Cernak contract concerns me as being an anchor."
---
"Tuch would cost 4 1sts and then some" after citing the asking price for Hagel.
---
On Cirelli as basis for Tuch deal

"So the plus has to be significant because Tampa is the team calling on Buffalo’s guy."

*Honorable mention to someone who said Geekie tops out as 3C.

That was easy.

Nothing wrong with Buffalo wanting (and expecting) to keep Tuch at the deadline and beyond, just some of the valuations are way off.

Lol, all of that or almost all was from one poster that I had muted. Sorry, all that analysis is wrong, although 4 1sts is both too much and not what the Sabres need. Who knows with Geekie but he doesn't profile as a top 6 c with his production.

Analysis? They're direct quotes from other people. You asked for it and got it.

The Geekie take is just laughable but we can circle back to that in a couple years.

Yeah…I mean I think in a vacuum Cirelli and Tuch probably have similar value but not sure I trust Cirelli’s production to hold up in Buffalo the way Tuch’s does.

So the plus has to be significant because Tampa is the team calling on Buffalo’s guy.

I’m sure the Sabres would throw in Joker or Samuelsson for Cernak to be the plus though ;)
2 things here -
1 - Cirelli is a true C, centres carry far more value than wingers 99% of the time. With the additional years of control and the vastly better defensive play and metrics, I don’t see Tuch being worth the same, never mind more than Cirelli
2 - I have never done this before, but I have heard from a very close source to Tuch that he told management in Buffalo that he wouldn’t mind a trade away from Buffalo and he will not be re-signing after this contract expires. This was in the pre-season so there’s always a chance he could have a change of heart, but I don’t expect Tuch to be in Buffalo beyond this season, but definitely not after next year.

I’ve been on this forum for 16 years and never once claimed to have any knowledge of any player or any situation. But this one was an unexpected meeting and conversation, including who was going to named the next captain of the team (which was correct). I am in the Pacific Northwest.

If that was the case then that would be quite the shocker.

Anyone. I mean anyone could have seen who the next captain was going to be

It was known that Dahlin was going to be Captain the day Kyle Okposo was traded and Adams called Dahlin to let him know.

Yeah a first overall pick isn’t a real stretch. I understand. But when this happens, I’m sure you’ll be back to comment. There’s no way you are just trying to be an internet naysayer.

And if it doesn’t happen, I am sure you will be back to comment. There’s no way you are just trying to be an internet legend

They gave up a 12+3+4+5 for jeannot, Ruth’s cost 4 1st given he is not a rental and can be signed to an extension.

Thr offer were redundancy in a prospect trade.

Right now to acquire Tuch it costs roster players, nota 1st+ magic beans..
If he doesn’t sign an extension in the summer then we can entertain picks+ prospects

I was confused by 12, but I realized you meant 1+2 and just missed the +.

The one thing that is the dumbest on HFBoards, is that everyone thinks the Outlier is the norm. Its actually pretty special that people are that delusional. Just because it happened, doesn't make it the standard. Look at the previous trades that a way better comparables for Tuch:

Goodrow
Coleman
Hagel

Those are 3 more realistic deals for value of Tuch. I don't think Tuch to Tampa is a reasonable or realistic situation, but man, some Buffalo fans here are delusional.
