Quinn
Samuelsson
1st

for

Schmaltz
Kesselring

Would you really do this?
Absolutely. Samuelsson and Kesselring are roughly equal but Samuelsson has injury problems but is better when healthy and better defensively. Quinn + a 1st for Schmaltz is more than I think Utah would get from every other team.

Buffalo needs quality NHL players with vet experience Main package will be Quinn, 25 1st and samuellsson
Stl: Buffalo package for kyrou and parayko
Utah: Buffalo package for schmaltz and kesserling
NSH: Forsberg and skej
Quinn is struggling this year and has immense talent along with Nashville, Utah and stl also struggling looking at top 10 picks Quinn would be a good edition for a young core he could grow with Cooley or be one of the main staples in the blues top six while those teams shed cap while Sammy is also young and provides great defense buffalo is overloaded with left handed defenseman and is signed for 4 mil plus and with Quinn on rfa status would hardly cost either team any cap and the first to get it done. Quinn Sammy and a first feels like fair value especially to a rebuilding team for some vets
Did you mean Kyrou OR Parayko? That makes a little more sense. Either way probably not enough.

And the Blues aren’t really looking at a top 10 pick.

Apparently I don't know much about Kesselring, I mostly looked at his metrics and they looked like a decent top 4 RD who is good at defense. Samuelsson has struggled defensively this season, and then there are his constant injuries.

Yea, I, personally, don't think they're close. As a neutral fan, Kesselring often impresses, Samuelsson often disappoints me.

No, it's hard for me to say because I've hardly seen Utah games, and this is their fan speaking. Maybe I don't know something about Kesselring. Although we are evaluating the deal in a vacuum, where Quinn and 1st are also present, and maybe this is really too much for one Schmaltz.

Not a Utah fan, but I watched Kesselring a bunch in previous seasons, just haven't watched him this season. But I have been on the Utah board and I don't think he's as good as you think. I watched him at the WC this year after the season and was impressed as well and thought he was good, and I think he might have a higher peak than Samuelsson for sure. But he's absolutely not a defensive stalwart. Offense and puck moving is his bread and butter, but he isn't the type of player to handle one on ones against top talent and I haven't been particularly impressed with his board play or play without the puck either. Samuelsson is exactly the type of defensive d-man Utah should be hunting for, if he ever regains his form and stops being constantly injured it's a very good low risk high return play.

Personally I think that will happen. If you think it won't then I can understand not wanting to trade Kesselring for him.

As for Quinn + 1st for Schmaltz, that's a home run slam dunk. Schmaltz is an extremely one dimensional soft winger who needs to be in the top 6 to have any impact and is often a detriment defensively who also is often just a perimeter player. I don't think he should fetch a 1st, let alone Quinn. I think he probably would get something like a 3rd + lesser young player or maybe a 2nd.

So I have the wrong idea about these players, thanks.
