Montour will likely want 4x4mil or akin to that.

So far I’ve mostly seen underwhelming offers. Either overpriced under performers or grab bag value prospects for the most part.

I have 0 interest in sending Risto to Toronto as he’s destined to be a thorn in our side after.

I’d want to work on Cirelli over any of Tampa’s 30 something’s making too much for their present production. Johnson is a 1 trick pony and Gourde makes almost twice what he’s worth.

What is Montour looking to sign for? If he comes in around 3.5M I would have interest in a swap for Tyler Johnson? Saves us 1.5M in cap and we get an offensive oriented RD to replace Shattenkirk. Not worried about exposing him in the ED either as Johnson would be exposed himself.

Montour makes $3.38m now, so I'd expect he asks for at least 5 and hopes to settle in the 4.4-4.7 range.

I would swap him for Tyler Johnson... but Johnson has the full NTC until 06/2021. Then he submits a 20 team trade list after that.

Calgary s Monahan would be ideal . But flames would need a center coming back . It would have to be Cozens and 8OA.

At this point, both Montour and Miller have negative value. Buffalo doesn't even want to qualify Montour.

I mean no offense, but BUF's D hasn't been all that great outside of Dahlin, so what kind of offers were you expecting?

No it wouldn't? Why would the Penguins be adding there?

Montour's not as valuable as when he was traded a little over a year ago.

I'm down for McCann for Montour straight across. I expect Montour to be better once he's out of Buffalo (he was playing on his off side most of last season), so there's definitely a sense in which we're not getting full value for him, but we're too crowded at RD to do anything else with him.

swap Pekar for Laaksonen and i am on board,
NYR need wings w heft, skill and attitude

"4th round pick Metaj Pekar admits he likes to be the "annoying guy" on the ice that gets under everybody's skin."
"Plays a heavy, gritty style. Strong two-way game with sound defensive play and stick work."
"Pekar sees himself like Brad Marchand and enjoys being an annoyance to players and getting under their skin. He is used on the powerplay and penalty kill, contributing with his range of passing and vision which he uses to set up teammates for good scoring looks. He has a solid accurate shot making him a dual threat off the wing. He is a strong player off the boards, winning battles and helping his team transition, but also being very defensively responsible and mature as a hockey player."

I can live with this, but I'd prefer to add and keep Laaksonen. I recognize the value of intangibles, and your endorsement speaks volumes. But I also think most of our existing F crop will bloom nicely. Thoughts?

Like Emp, I have suggested McCann for Montour on several occasions and I continue to believe that it works well for both sides.

Not enough pieces moving. It's a bernmeister proposal after all, you have a reputation to lose! :sarcasm:

When you see the rabbit, tell him, silly rabbit, Trix are for kids!

Then spank yourself for not remembering there is only one bernmeister
my reputation remains intact without challenge.

And if nec, I can always pull out a copy of Joan Jett singing about my bad reputation.
And I don't give a damn
oh no no no no no
etc

I worry the Fs beyond Kakk and Laf are not sure things. ( i am always optimistic. Expecting Barron and Krav and Gauth to progress)
RHD seems in good hands w Trouba, Fox then Lundkvist, Skinner.

But the Finnish RD would be fine, too

Who would you offer to move up to #4 and DET drops to #8?

Draft your center at #4 (Rossi).

Or what about Mantha for #8?

Any other aspect aside, while it more positions at F to cover, I think we are/will be good with the guys above + the guys we add.
Hence I think Osc. Laak. is a good long term gamble.
+ he is exp dr exempt and elc x 3
