Mcleod is a pending UFA playing for a big payday. Buffalo will pay him whatever he wants because they traded a top prospect for him - the Oilers cannot afford to pay Mcleod. I'm glad you are happy with him, but Savoie is producing on a terrible AHL team (something you ignored).

McLeod is RFA, not UFA when his deal ends.

Edit - agree on the rest, the Oilers needed to shuffle cap space and McLeod was the choice.

It'll be interesting to see if McLeod is one of those guys that scares his team away from a QO because of possible arbitration.
