well that's odd. wasn't he giannis's choice too?

i wonder if he was just impossible to work with, considering the way terry stotts resigned as one of his assistants before the season even began

but lol @ bringing in doc. enjoy blowing a 3-1 lead in the playoffs

Enjoy bowing out in the 2nd round year after year

Man, Doc Rivers gets a lot of mileage out of 2008.

Hes by far the most overrated coach in NBA history. Hell, the league even named him a top 15 coach of all time for no apparent reason.

He hasn't even made a CF since he left Boston; Clippers & 76ers were both stacked with talent.

Firing your coach so you can hire.... Doc Rivers????

This guy hasn't done shit in over a decade.

Really regretting that contract extension he signed.
The firing doesn't seem to be the issue. By the sounds of it Griffin totally lost his players early in to the year (Stotts got canned because they allegedly couldn't co-exist)

The issue is firing this guy for a guy who got carried to a ring 15 years ago and has done nothing of note since.

Never seen a team get more mileage out of a title than the 2008 Celtics. Doc is definitely the main one, but Pierce, Perkins and (to a lesser extent) Rondo also got a ton.
The rest of Garnett's playoff record is not great.

This was shocking at first. Then I was watching some old Inside the NBA episodes I had on the DVR.

Haven't been paying attention much to the NBA and learned about the Bobby Portis incident. So now the firing doesn't come off as jarring.

Still want to know what do teams see in Doc Rivers as a head coach.
