I don't know if I want it to be their responsibility to care about the team to the point of change, I'd rather media focus on independent reporting and analysis and leave the calls for change elsewhere-it muddies the waters. Even then, short of findings of criminal or offensive conduct, no Nashville media is going to have the sway to effect any change on the Preds organization. Most national media don't even have that ability. How much effect does Larry Brooks and his antagonism have on the Rangers?

The reality is that fans are the only effector of change for a losing, poorly run team. People can stop watching, stop attending, and stop buying shit until the bottom line has been affected enough (and even then it will take some time), or you can strap in and resign yourself to where the ride is taking us. Do enough Nashville sports fans or Preds fans care enough after one shit season to effect change? I doubt it.
This is depressingly fair

Not gonna lie, you nailed this. This is perfect GM/Trotz speak.

Waiting on Trotz to say we have proactively come to an agreement on a Bruno contract extension keeping him here for an additional 3 years through 2029-30 season

I'm not worried about that yet. He has what, a 4-year contract worth around $4M/yr? Okay, we've burned 2/4 years now, at least. I figure one more and they will be willing to swallow the last year? :crossfing

I think we are now beyond a 50/50 chance Bruno is NOT the coach next season. A complete reversal from last week.
If this is the case and it really took the exit interviews and a week of extra pondering for Trotz to see what everyone else could see after the first 5 games in October..... It just...just isn't good. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

If we get the win of having Bruno gone, I'll take it. One step at a time.

Maybe he's taking a little bit of time to lock up his replacement. I'm assuming it's still not going to be Taylor. Although if it was, it could be put off to not distract from the Milwaukee playoffs. But I don't see that as Trotz's style... he's more likely to chase one of the many veteran NHL re-treads who were fired. :help:

For me, the delay signifies that Trotz is still struggling with the decision. Sure, if he finally gets to the correct answer that Brunette needs to go it's a positive. But, by no means, is it reassuring that it's this much of a struggle.

Fire the guy and move on. He has 2-3 months to find someone, no need to wait until you have the replacement signed to a contract.

Wasn't Lane Lambert his go-to assistant/associate a lot of years? He's currently assisting in Toronto, so I could see that being a guy who he has close enough ties to that he promotes to being a Head Coach? :dunno:

I'll take Bruno gone in whatever way it takes but I also have very little trust that Trotz is going to be able to make a good hire to replace him.
I'm assuming that the delay in the Bruno firing announcement is because Barry has been interviewing replacement candidates, but I share your skepticism that he gets it right this time

Take of the day - Bruno is going to step down to tend to his sick father. It allows Trotz to save face as a GM who made a bad hire and allows Bruno to bow out gracefully and hopefully give him a shot later down the line as a coach again.

I’ve got two theories on this.
1) Trotz is waiting to see if the guy he wants as a replacement becomes available soon, much like he did with Hynes. If that guy comes available he fires Brunette and hires that guy immediately afterwards.
2) Trotz doesn’t see that there is a problem and is holding off or skipping an end of season press conference because he doesn’t want to give the media or fans any sound bites to get upset about.

OR Lambert is only available after the Leafs get eliminated.
Hahaha, that would be wild. Imagine going from arguments a few years back about firing Hynes and Poile needing to retire and it could, but probably won't, get worse and Poile won't win us a Cup anyway so who cares...to Trotz (and his performance thus far) with Lane Lambert coaching.

After the exit interviews he could be sitting down with bruno to address specific feedbacks and how he plans to rectify those specifically
