These are somewhere between the Bourque uniforms, and the alternates they wore beginning in 2008 with a black socks and no hem stripes.

Knew Neely couldnt help himself with the Socks. I will say though they look more balanced without the shoulder yokes as a black sock/jersey/pant combo. The last one after addidas took over was all out of whack. These are at least more aesthetically balanced to look at.

Still, this close to perfection, this close. They even had the black hem on the sleeve of the whites! sigh

Definitely.

As a stand alone, I think I’ll go for the black jersey since love the gold spoked B, but the whites are gorgeous.

The previous whites look fine in person/up close, but the gold got swallowed up by the black shoulder yokes and hem stripes when watching on TV. It’s the same issue as the outlines on the spokes, when viewed from a distance it looked like a muddled green instead of black bordering gold.

Yup, you get games in more dimly lit arenas and the gold practically vanished on camera or from a distance.

I'm debating finally shelling out for that Bourque #7 road white I've always wanted.

There were many away games (especially on NESN) where the Bruins looked like they were wearing black and grey trim.

Reminds of me when we’d play NES Ice Hockey on my cousin’s black and white TV. Someone would need to be Sweden in order to have a little contrast in the uniforms.

At the end of the day, the goal is for them to sell shirts, so we’re not going to get a 1 for 1 remake of the 1980-1995 unis.

Same reason the Pats will never bring back the 1991 unis full time when they can make money off of the red throwbacks and also make money off of the Elvis/navy stuff.

On that topic about the yellow, I'd love to see an alternate version of these two uniforms done in gold. Providence did ones similar a few years ago. Maybe that's one reason we didn't get gold socks. Maybe an alternate is in our future a few seasons down the road.

I also believe hockey socks are like pants in the NFL where they can change them as you see fit without it counting towards a uniform change.

Sort of like what the Pats did bringing back the silver pants. You can mix and match as you prefer and it doesn’t restart the clock on your window to rebrand.

So they they bring back gold socks to pair with a gold jersey, they could then wear those socks with the black sweaters at will.

A boy can dream….

You could do something like this and bring back the meth bear as well.

Those were sexy I had forgotten about them. I think you are right about sock changes.

Maybe I'm just becoming an old cantankerous man but this team just can't do anything right. My favorite B's Jersey of the past and they don't do the V-neck in the gold on the black uni? I'm sure they'll screw up the socks as well.

Love it. I will wait to see if they name Pasta captain and then I will get one. I need a new one b/c my CMac jerseys are way too big. Hell, I may get a CMac jersey too. I will also get a CMac USA jersey at some point as well.

Absolutely love them. Didn't have anything against the Reebok style logo/jerseys but this is much cleaner and a much better modernization of one of the league's most classic jerseys.

I do also wish they had gold socks but doesn't take too much away from me.
 
Didn't think I'd like these, not a big fan of the 80's look, but these are very nice. Clean, simple, sharp.

Glad they didn't go with gold socks. Gold socks with the gold jersey was great. Bright gold socks with a black jersey looks weird to me.
