None of those players going to get you a top 10 pick if traded for a '25 #1.
Going to a contender picking about #2.

Sorry, wrong expression. I meant their own first round pick becoming a top 10. Unfortunately with the standings of the eastern conference its very possible or should I say, fortunately if you favouring a retool. Right now the Bruins only have 3 points on the 22 placed Rangers.

Also the more assets you obtain, the easier it is to move up in the draft, the key is, as we all know is to then make the right choice.

Why, is this the new technique, that the shooter now slows down, why not use speed, make a move then take a shot, just drives me crazy.
The league won't address it but should. The excitement is the action of a true breakaway at game speed. I have always hated that they allowed this perversion of the spirit of the game. Slowing down should not be allowed.

Conspiracy theory at its finest, is that what your suggesting ?

🤔 Sweeney Neely have Keefe put the Pasta” I don't want to play with Marchy “ out there, not directly of course, and Sacco benches Marchand, all to make it easier to trade Marchand aiming at him to request one ? They couldn't be that Shallow could they ??

Gotta admit, though that had entered my mind.😂

Maybe it's me not being local, but I have to ask: how does the fishing dude figure into this?

Shootout is a gimmick anyway - one I've never liked. Still, even a gimmick, the Leauge should have made at least some effort to ensure the "breakway" (essentially what this is supposed to represent) is at least in the galaxy of real life.

Only way some of these "shootout" attempts happen in real life is if a sniper has taken out all five defenders with a high powered rifle and the goalie is left trying to haul his ass up ice to try and back check.

I'm on the fence with the Marchy OT debate....on one hand he was having a horrible game, multiple posters including myself during the live game thread were saying it ...turnover, bad pass machine all afternoon ....on the other hand he's your captain and one of the most clutch OT performers in Bruins and NHL history....I'm leaning towards the fact Sacco made a mistake but I see the logic...now he has to deal with a disgruntled room/captain...fun times.
After sleeping on it and thinking through it more imo there is probably a rift going on between the players and the CS. As a HC you can only bench so many players . I may be way off here but what has more impact on a team, a coach benching a player like Coyle or Freddy or Carlo or benching the most outspoken and captain of the team.

I feel Sacco and the CS made a attempt to get the teams attention by benching the leader of the team . Will it work or will it blow up - remains to be seen.

@Fenway knows for sure but I believe its Charlie Moore’s production company that does all the behind the scenes Bruins shows .

He’s the executive producer for Behind the B, the team operated “behind the scenes” program which runs on the (partially) team owned network.

Thank guys. I had no idea that was the case. I have watched some Behind the B, but I never paid attention to the credits. Interesting.

You know, when I was watching the game yesterday and the Bruins fought back from 2 down and later took a 5 - 3 lead, ... I was wounding if the game In Tampa that they lost 4 - 1 was going to be the turning point to their season.
It was seeming that in that game the team had found their identity ... and maybe to some extent they have.
Since that loss the team has been much more engaged physically and having each other's backs.
The Frederic of the past few games is the Frederic i want to see the rest of the season.
Other players have seemed emboldened not taking any crap and claiming their territory on the ice.
The team needs to keep playing that way.

The loss to Ottawa was disappointing.
The team had played really well until the last few minutes of the game.
Ottawa played the last few minutes with a nothing to lose approach.
While Boston fell into the trap of playing not to lose.
A few bonehead brain dead plays by some of the Bruins players who should know better cost them the game in regulation.
Going into the shootout I was thinking this wasn't going to end well, being their first shootout of the season.
The lack of urgency and energy displayed in body language by the players in the shootout was frustrating.

However, even as disappointing as the loss was , the team has to continue to build upon the successes of the past few games, continue to play aggressively and physically further developing a reputation of a team opponents will have to keep their heads up when playing.
Considering our defensive unit is under manned not having now their top two defensman the team has battled very well.
Under the circumstances being out shot, out chanced is to be some what expected.
Hopefully, that will change as the defense gets healthy.

The team has to continue to play the way it has since the loss in Tampa, learn from and correct the mistakes of the Ottawa loss, and keep pushing forward.
Their destiny and season is in their own hands.
There are still a lot of games to be played.
No giving up.
Just qualify for the playoffs, that's the goal.
If and when they do, anything can happen.

If I am Brad ,I put my kids first and no way are they making me waive my nmc and lose time home.Brad holds the cards here.He gave them a home town discount last time, so they better start respecting him more.

Brad's being treated differently than other captains. Taking Patrice's place didn't help. Big skates to fill.

Yet the benching I can't help think it's a move from upstairs where Sacco is given the green light to do so and so was Monty.
So when they actually sit down (maybe) to work out a contract with Cam and Don (maybe) they say "ya, you contributed, but although our team had a lot of turnovers by everyone yours were the worst, you're 37 and we had to bench you 2 times (2 for now). Here's the deal, 3.5 per for two years".

I'm confused with Pasta. Even more so these days as it's happening more and more.
Is he trying to score on the goalie or is he trying to fool the goalie? 🤔
He has the shot. Use it!!! Bend that twig!!!
Cole Caufield has an amazing release and he uses it. No fancy lazy crap.
This crap of coming 5' in front of the goalie then deciding to try a move has to stop.

Fifteen feet out....pick a spot!

Team is headed to purgatory. Not bad enough for high picks, not good enough to be a real threat, and will be either just outside or fighting for a WC spot. Prospect pipeline bad, while overpaying for marginally better players in FA. Large contracts no one will take on without giving assets.

The only bright spot that could possible help a little is the cap going up a significant margin. Just worried they will spend it unwisely at this point though

Brad has more value in trading him at the deadline if he wants. Can resign him in the offseason again if HE wants.

He might be done with this shit himself by now

Well, Saccos job is on the line, and Marchand, would not be afraid to call someone else out, so live with it. My honest opinion Marchand, and I have been saying this , will have some games where he will be the player we have watched for years, but at this point in his career, he should be on the third line, with reduced minutes, and off the PP. Harsh, I know, but also known as reality.

I can't imagine that the reason for the benching is contract related.

First of all, on top of everything else, Brad has been a company guy. Not only has he taken less at times, he's publicly supported management against teammates during negotiations (Pasta and Swayman). That can cut either way, good or bad, depending on your POV of what's best for the team (supporting teammates an building morale or looking out for cap management because it would help the team win). But there's no indication that Marchand would be anything but flexible and accommodating when it comes to negotiations.

In my mind there's basically 3 explanations for the benching:

1) Sacco thought Marchand's play warranted it and he'd do the same to anyone else
2) Sacco thought Marchand's play warranted it, and while he might let it go, he wanted to make an example "If I can do this to your leader for lackadaisical play, I can do it to any of you less important guys" (the Brady Treatment)
3) Sacco thinks there is another issue beyond play that warranted it. Either between coach and player, player and player or just player in general.

It could also be a combo of some of these and a coach just trying to pull strings.. which would say something that 2 coaches this season have felt the need to try and go for some sort of shock value to get the team's attention.

Bruins players saw that open net and subconsciously or consciously thinking goal over win
Yeah, well this just shows that you’re soft. The Bruins need change, and you offer up this kind of touchy feely bullshit. You want change? You gotta get tough. Be better.
Im the blueprint of everything good in life

How dare you

I agree with the PP . Its become way too predictable and stagnant. Way too dependent on Pasta and way too stationary . Marchy hardly ever shoots on it anymore and when he does its usually blocked or off target.
