Didn't realize we are at game 81 or 82. If you want to bail on this team now, go for it, but I don't care what they look like, I will believe they have a chance to be in the playoffs until they are eliminated. They have had uglier seasons than this and no one was jumping ship.

Like I said, if you or anyone else wants to jump ship, I'm not going to stop you.
Nothing to do with want. And I won’t bail on my team until they sign someone who is objectively deplorable and I’m in the position where I have to cheer for him. Like I did with the Browns with Watson.

But any hopeful delusions I may have had for this year’s team (if they can only get another top six forward, if Poitras and/or Lysell, when Hampus gets back, etc)? They’re dead. They’ve already fired their coach, who really f***ed us starting the year with one foot out the door, and we’re stuck with the guy with snotty facial tissue for brains.

“We’re in overtime and we have THIS GUY on our team. I think I’ll BENCH HIM.”

If the room wasn’t divided before, it is now. In a CRITICAL game against a team we’re actively fighting with for a playoff spot.

How do they come back from it?

I’ll watch and cheer for the guys I love. But there’s a DNQ on the way, I’m sure of it now. So I’ll have one eye on the draft board all the way.

Kasper leaves Neely on the bench

During his brief tenure as coach of the Bruins, Steve Kasper managed to accomplish the feat of bringing power forward Cam Neely almost to tears.

Neely, along with teammate Kevin Stevens, dressed for a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs in January of 1996 as if it were any other game. The difference on that night was the club's leading scorer was stapled to the bench for the duration of the match by the first-year head coach.

After the game, Kasper said he felt the decision was going to give his team the best chance to win and that he wasn't trying to embarrass anyone. Neely, however, was clearly distraught:

Kasper was fired by the Bruins after the team failed to make the playoffs in 1997 and has yet to be given another opportunity to coach in the NHL. Neely was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005 and was named Boston's team president in 2010.

I know people talk a lot about trades , but how much of the slow starts and poor closing periods and games comes back to coaching?

I don't think our D is lacking talent, but they seem to be confused....their fault or the way they are coached?

Yeah it’s not happening. From the time of Sacco’s promotion, we knew we were sink or swim with the lame duck.

And now we know he’s actively poisoning the well on the way out.
Should fire him right now & hire Boudreau or someone with his head coaching experience.Who else is out there without googling it.Any college Coaches worthy?

When was the last time a team fired 2 coaches during the season?
Did a little digging out of curiosity as I was wondering this earlier in the week.

Apparently it’s the 1995-96 Ottawa Senators.

The Thrashers had 3 coaches in 2002-2003, but the GM was the 2nd coach and then they made a permanent hire shortly after.

Like all players Marchand has his faults and bad games....but he also bleeds Black and Gold

I could understand sitting him if he was injured but "a coaches decision" to sit one of the few forwards with the potential to score 3 on 3 while Charlie Coyle -who had a much worse game- sees the ice, is at best baffling

Add that this is your Captain and a future retired jersey wearer and I have to think there is more to this story.

Stay tuned- this is going to get very interesting

This has to burn Neely wanting to win so badly .Wish they could have shown his face on SO winner.

Game was very entertaining, but I don't know how you manage to blow a 2 goal lead like that after grinding all game, just brutal

Really loved the way they played. Deserved the W. Lindholm made a few noticably bad plays tonight. Not a Lindholm hater but I noticed this game. getting 73 and 27 back would be a huge boost. But we'll see how that goes.

Brad was invisible, was floating, and these types of games . . .I'm sorry but he can't do that anymore
. . .and Lindholm is just bafflingly bad. Period.
They both need a message/come to Jesus discussion, in private, but in OT, Brad's my guy.

We've seen Coyle with some touch, right now he has Duran hands, but he worked his tail off in this game.

I say it every game, Oesterle is solid and is up for a podium position on 7th player award.

Sacco is one dour dude. Wow.

and What does Leach do again?

Dumb move by Sacco for sure. But I have to wonder what’s up with Marchand having issues with both coaches this year.

What seems to get overlooked in todays loss is Swaymans selfish attempt at the empty net.
Marchand is a legend here who helped lead Bruins to a Cup.One of the best OT players in history as well. Sacco is asking for a way out of town treating him like that. As for Swayman , he should not have tried that, but that play never happens not for Coyle or even matters not for his 40 saves with many high quality. This team is not that solid and people need to accept it in Bruins organization and make the hard decisions.

Oesterle's only played 18 games.

After they lose on Monday, Leach will be the new head coach.
