Boston, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, March 4, that the Bruins have signed forward Justin Hickman to an entry-level contract.
Hickman, 20, has spent the previous five campaigns with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League from 2010 to 2015, establishing career highs last season when he notched 22 goals (tied for fourth on the team), 24 assists (tied for sixth on the team) and 46 points (sixth on the team) with 154 penalty minutes (first on the team). Hickman served as team captain for the last two seasons.
In 31 games for the Seattle Thunderbirds this season, Hickman has potted nine goals and 19 assists for 28 points with a plus-three rating and 40 penalty minutes.
In his WHL career, the 6'3'', 218-pound forward from Kelowna, BC has appeared in 285 games for the Thunderbirds, racking up 55 goals and 77 assists while accruing 466 penalty minutes.
The forward also played five games for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on an ATO (amateur tryout agreement) in 2013-14, where he picked up one goal in five games.
