Bruins- Kappo Kakko

Rangers- Trent Frederic

Both in the last year of their deals. Frederic has run his course in Boston and just seems like a Ranger type player. Seems like Kakko has been ok this year judging by numbers. I’m probably way off here but fire away.

I want to thank you for your well thought response to my proposal.

The prospects are fine but Sykora is redundant with Lysell and they don’t have room for more slow bottom six grinder guys. What they need is an injection of top six skill on the NHL roster. Bruins are only 2 points behind the rangers despite the awful start. Defensively, they have gotten their shit together getting away from Monty trying to coach like it’s the 2023 team. But they need scoring help now. And while Frederic might not get them what they need alone, that doesn’t mean selling him off for a couple of meh prospects either.

no
Kakko is emerging still has untapped upside

I do Frederic for Kreider.
also no

I thought Kappo was somewhat useful?

Frederic is just dogshit. If he has ANY value whatsoever, Bruins should pull the trigger on that deal
he is more than somewhat useful, actually solid

OP looking to poach

If you posted this last year you might have had a different reaction. The problem is despite not putting up 2nd overall numbers, or production worthy of saying "he's a keeper" Kakko is far from the problem this season and has looked really good with players like Cuylle and Chytil. They also just tossed him in the center position and he had a pretty good showing there. I like a lot of what Trent brings, but I think fans are waiting to see if last season will be a repeat or not, because if this is more in line with what you should expect, then it's doesn't seem worth the trade, regardless how you view Kakko.

And a player with a lot more value than Frederic.
I recently watched Mick Colagio on a show, he is one of the few media types that I really enjoy, it helps that he is a old school hockey guy, and not full of himself, and he kind of suggested that moving Freddy, is not a move he would like to see, but he understands.
