Are you saying you don’t believe in his model or that it’s just made up?Cmon?! The kid was sheltered and the game was a bit fast for him. These numbers are over kill and just![]()

Those numbers good or bad doesn’t change the fact that the Bruins screwed up by sending him there. I’m sure people can argue. Are you saying you don’t believe in his model or that it’s just made up?
How did the Bruins send him there? Those numbers good or bad doesn’t change the fact that the Bruins screwed up by sending him there. I’m sure people can argue.
Let’s not bring facts into the Letourneau conversation Eric, we live in a society. How did the Bruins send him there?
Letourneau committed June 9 to BC
Draft was June 28
I stand corrected. I thought I read somewhere where they helped that pathway. How did the Bruins send him there?

Anyway, can we give this to one of the draft threads.
No sense in debating it in every thread right @Gee Wally ?
You seem to be saying that using data means you’re spinning an outcome you desire. This person is not a Bruins guy - why would he want to do that? Are you not comfortable with any data around players on the ice other than the basics? Is this valid scouting or simply another case of using data to spin any predetermined outcome the author desires?

Sure. Genuine question - do you not believe that any of these kinds of advanced analytics that use tracking data are worth considering in evaluating players? Not alone of course that would be silly and Byron Bader-esque.Genuine question if anyone places any validity in that person's system. "JFresh" for example often puts together reports that are completely unreliable.
They certainly can be. Seems surprising to spin a positive story with analytics considering the actual production and how much of the boost is the quality of team etc.Sure. Objective stats from tracking data. Is that polishing?I like Dean but are we really trying to pretend his freshman season wasn’t bad? There are reasons for it but why polish a turd?
Is it comedy night? 36-0-3-3. 25th overall pick in the past draft. I don’t want to knock the guy but those “tracking stats” and a token will get you a ride on the bus. Objective stats from tracking data. Is that polishing?

Ok you got me. He had a really solid year, many of us are too stupid to see it.Ok Lou.
You have no idea what you are taking about. 3 assists in 36 games is quite good. They certainly can be. Seems surprising to spin a positive story with analytics considering the actual production and how much of the boost is the quality of team etc.
Looking for the realistic report and perhaps this is. I for one don't mind the draft pick for the potential but this first season screams disaster.
What the hell? There is technology available that allows us to see things other than just points. It’s rounds out evaluations of any given player. I posted said analytics about said player. That’s it.Ok you got me. He had a really solid year, many of us are too stupid to see it.
It's ok if he didn't do well, like I said there are reasons for it, it's ok.
Did Letourneau have a good season in your opinion? What the hell? There is technology available that allows us to see things other than just points. It’s rounds out evaluations of any given player. I posted said analytics about said player. That’s it.
No of course not. But again, some of the underlyings indicate that despite a lack of points, there were more positives than one would see just by looking at box scores. I only watched him 9 or 10 times so it’s not like I could get a full sense of his play. Unless I just wanted to look at points, of course.Did Letourneau have a good season in your opinion?
He looked better than his points for sure. He had alot of time with scoring players so hopefully he gets top 6 next year.No of course not.
