I just noticed this. I think I got it right.
According to Elite Prospects. of the 40 Bruins prospect skaters. Only 1 plays in the CHL.
Loke Johanson (D) for Moncton in the Q. None in the OHL or WHL.
Most are NCAA or AHL.

Not sure if that's unusual. Too lazy to look at other teams.
I had a post about this topic the other day. They mostly draft players from Europe (esp Scandinavia) or the US (USHL and USNTDP), and rarely draft Russians and CHL players.

I no pro at assessing prospects, that's for sure. That said, I'll take news like this every day of the week! Thanks Dom.
For me it's become a losing argument.

I am not blind and I realize that the Bruins don't have high draft picks and thus won't win any top prospect rankings.

But the scouting department sucks, right? Or does it? Let me ask you because you have some common sense:

IF the scouting department is finding what turns out to be one of the three best players in each round in the later rounds, is that not successful?

I mean, Loke Johansson, Dans Locmelis, Oskar Jellvik, Ryan Walsh, Ty Gallagher, Andre Gasseau, Chris Pelosi, Frederic Brunet - although there's time to go they are at least trending in that direction.

It's not the fault of the scouting department for where they are picking, but they have been doing their job since Sweeney finished revamping the scouting department.

Couldn't agree more. In my (very) limited perspective, scouts have to be charged with building lists and then adapting those lists to what other teams do (who is and is not available) or positional needs. Not their job to structure and manage team building into the future.

And the bottom line is that Boston has given up a lot of 1st round/2nd round picks to compete. And I can't be a hypocrite and whine about that now. I was all in on Hathaway, Orlov, and Bertuzzi. For that matter I was also all in on Rick Nash.

My only gripe was the mismanagement of 2015. That said, I do hope with all my heart that ownership/management sees this year for what it is. No sense coming up with an elaborate plan to sneak into the prom if you don't have a tuxedo. Particularly if there are more handsome guys already attending who have killer velvet crush tuxes (preferably light blue with navy trim -- but that's just a personal bias).

The last part reminded me of my wedding day in 1984

Agree with the overall point, but I'm going to push back on 1 specific thing here: I don't think Pelosi is top 3 in his round and not even top 5:

Lardis
Kiiskinen
Fowler
Suniev

Are to me no brainers as better.

Pelosi is in a group with guys like:
Burns
NDN
Pekarcik
Fortescue
Pieniemmi
Perron
Barkey
Karki

A lot of different types there and I can see how some might like Pelosi's future over smaller guys like Karki or Perron. And the 5 guys I have as "no brainers" better were all gone before Pelosi anyway.
