Hey what lies are we telling ourselves about why Dean Letourneau's 2 points in 15 games isn't telling the whole story? Really trying to embrace delusion as a coping mechanism in 2025.
All I can say is he wasn't expected to be at BC this year. Will Smith leaving changed that. Right to be concerned though as he's fallen to 4th line/healthy scratch territory.

He was not a scratch.
He was going to be but last minute change due to other guys being out

Owen Sound owns his OHL rights so it is a possibility but i would rather he went the USHL route at this point than the OHL route.

However, I don't think his development is being held back at BC.
BC has not had a ton of secondary scoring and Greg Brown would love for Dean to take that opportunity and run with it but it just hasn't happened. 2nd semester Brown will do what is best for BC to win games which probably won't jive with ideal development for Dean. Will be interesting to see what happens after this season. Would not shock me if he goes elsewhere.

Was watching a QMJHL.game tonite and Cape Breton was playing top team in Western conference Drummondville.Noticed an undrafted kid Lucas Romeo born in 05..Big strong kid with nice release that plays a pro style game.Might be worth giving him a chance in our system..He has a mean streak too.

He was at Bruins rookie camp this season.

All true. I just think at this point going to Owen Sound would be at the bottom of my list and probably the Bruins.

I'd be shocked if he goes elsewhere, BC will have many holes to fill in the top 6,if Letourneau puts in the offseason work it's there for the taking

But the anti Merk crowd does have some ammo
He was mediocre in camp
Was mediocre in 4 NHL games
His age doesn’t help either. He is older than a lot of the other prospects I rank higher. Not that he is old or anything. He still hasn’t hit his prime and has some serious offensive tools.

In the 7 nhl games he has played did he stand out in any of them?

I’d rather see lysell before I see merkulov.
