Yes, Morrow has proven during his currnt stint that he is a NHL defenseman. He'll likely end up going back to Providence this year once the blueline gets healthy but only because he would be one of the few D that does not have to clear waivers. Next year when he is no longer waiver exempt, I would fully expect him to make the team.
Thanks for the info, was kind of hoping he might get the Colborne treatment next year

Yeah, he was pretty solid. I saw a lot of him at the Bruins' development camp, too, and I thought he looked good.

Just watched the highlights of the game from that night (on Northeasterns hockey page, dont know how to put video here) and he laid a huge hit around the 0:50 mark if anyone is interested

Went to the PC NU game tonight. Benning had a decent game. He plays a ton of minutes for that team. Would love to get some TOI stats cause it seemed like he was out there every other shift including lots of PP and PK time. Didn't really see much from him in offensive end but thought he played good in defensive zone. Made a couple of nice outlet plays and had a really nice hit along the boards in his own end. Won a couple 50/50 pucks in corner but also made one or two turnovers in DZone. Hopefully he continues to log these huge minutes and refine his game

Emil Johansson has been injured, now he is sent down to the U20 (juniors).
Saw some advanced stats on HV71s´defenders, Johansson was 1# when it comes to offensive zone entries (74% success rate) and 3# when it came to breaking up the oppositions plays (64%).

The main reason for him being sent down is that the team has three huge contracts with established players that don't live up to their salary right now, the coach needs to get them going if the team is to be long lived in the play-offs. HV71 also signed the legendary Jere Karalahti last week.

I think time with the young guys might be beneficiary for Emil, he is sometimes playing too safe and needs to get his production going. Hopefully he can dominate and develop some "ego." With his mobility and HIQ he should be able to become more of a two-way defender.

Anton Blidh is on the Swedish WJC roster going to camp in Ottawa. :handclap:

(They are taking 15 forwards so probably two should be cut after camp.)

Love it.

We've got some hidden gems in very non typical places. Blidh, Heinen, Cehlarik, Donato(although not off to the start most hoped for), along with the D corps who sound like they're performing very well overseas. Good stuff.

Blidh should make the Swedish team as a PK specialist at the very least. Has a lot of hockey IQ and should transition to the North American game well when he makes the jump.

I really think he's going to be our new P.J. Axelsson.

Maybe Ted Donato isn't a terrible coach after all....Harvard is 7-1-2 in November!

As most coaches will tell you, it's mostly about the players. I think because of the academic standards, the Ivy League schools will always have an uphill battle, but that didn't stop Yale a couple of years ago. Over a 10 year span, he has only 4 seasons with winning records and has made the NCAA's twice. His winning percentage is only .473 in the last decade.

At this point, not sure whether or not we can say he's "not terrible" because he's off to a good start this season?

"McIntyre came off the bench to stop 12 of 13 shots in Friday’s comeback win and came within five minutes of a shutout in Saturday’s series finale, stopping 16 of 17 shots for the game. On the weekend, McIntyre stopped 28 of 30 shots for a .933 save percentage while posting a 1.21 goals against average. His 12 wins tie him with Miami’s Jay Williams for most in the nation."

McIntyre has helped his team to a #1 ranking. Another A+ to the Bruins goalie scouts.

I think he is very good, but will he sign with us or become a free agent? It would be amazing to have 3 good goalies in the organization.

Would shock me if hes not with providence next year. With khudobin rask Johnson and now svedberg all carving out jobs in the NHL as goaltenders coming up to the bs from providence or being rescued from spiralng into obscurity in Johnsons case can't think McIntyre sees the bruins as a bad move. Yes Rask is locked up to a big deal but khodobin and Johnson got paid well after backing up tuukka and mcintyre is more promising then they both were at the start of their tenure.

In other news disapointed bjork wasn't invited to camp with USA for wjc. Doubt he would make the team but would have been a nice story to follow and would positively impact his chances for next years club.

Anyone have a list of all be prospects playing in the wjc?

Arnesson unless he's too old I'm sure is a shoe in, same with cehlarik.
Blidh and Johansen with pastrnak if allowed. Is that all of em? If so I guess go Sweden right?

Not sure if intended by your post but Pastrnak would be on the Czech team rather than the Swede's.

Poor sentence structure. I was going with locks in the first segment and question marks in the other. I wasn't sure about Johansen blidh and pastrnak playing.

Sweden with Linus Anton and Emil.
Czech with pastrnak (if bruins release him)
Cehalrik Slovak.

I feel he is going to be a sleeper prospect. As far as the USA camp goes it's a very deep strong group ,yet it would have been nice to see .

True. Donato didn't get any sort of consideration, which is unusual for a 2nd round pick.

I totally agree...actually I was primarily joking, but there are a few folks here who have expressed disappointment for the Ryan Donato pick and the fact that he is going the slow route to Harvard to play with his dad. Looking at Ted Donato's win/loss %, it's easy to feel that way. But Harvard was bound to improve with guys like Vesey, Hart and McNally coming up in the ranks and Michalek playing lights out hockey right now. Donato will join a much stronger Harvard squad in 2015. On that note, it's good to see Wiley Sherman getting significant ice time (despite the lack of points)...I was impressed with his improvement between 2013 and 2014 at development camp.

I don't really have an issue with Ryan playing for his Dad. Most coaches are harder on their own kids than anybody else on the team.
