He will be an option to play Saturday, Bruins coach Joe Sacco said. ... Boston recalled Merkulov and Viel, each a forward, and Mitchell, a defenseman, from Providence of the American Hockey League on Friday; Forwards Riley Tufte and Oliver Wahlstrom and defenseman Michael Callahan each was reassigned to Providence. ... The Penguins did not practice Friday following a 5-4 overtime win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday.

If they recalled Merk to scratch him in favor of f***ing Viel and are playing Brazeau over him as well to “showcase” him for a trade, they’re stupider than I thought. I’m pretty sure the entire league knows what Brazeau is at this point: big, slow, decent hands, ok depth piece with size; they really need to “showcase” him?

The Rags just went out and decisively dumped Lindgren. You’re telling me we can’t just dump Brazeau for a 4th and move on? Are they holding out for a better 4th? Jesus, Sweeney, take what you can get for a kid who shouldn’t even be here and move on.
