I'm honestly impressed Carlo has made such a decent career in the NHL while not being able to do anything involving the puck besides swatting it.

He use to skate with the puck more and actually at various times was surprisingly not bad at it. As he as aged, it seems he has accepted what his role is, and not trying to go beyond what his real strength is as an NHL D-man.

This guy think's defense 95% of the time, puts all his energy into his defensive assignments. Pretty sure he doesn't even want to waste any energy on anything offensive unless it's something he can't pass up. Whatever is in the gas tank goes to being a pain for teams in his zone.

Whether people think Carlo has lost a step, and is a liability at times and they should move on for him, he puts forth an effort in the defensive zone like no one else. And when he is on, he frustrates other teams no doubt about it.

Think it's hard it find players like this, every player wants a least little taste of the action on the other side of the ice and will sacrifice defense for it. I think teammates and coaches appreciate Carlo's mindset and work. It just doesn't look pretty and mistakes look that much worse, as it's mostly when he's noticeable.
